majic hour episode #58 transcription

(00:01) hello hi how are you i’m well how are you i’m excellent thank you for joining us happy to be here there’s our girl hi you’re so timely good to see you again and you thanks um okay mercedes you um you may just read the bio yeah paul will just start uh reading your bio and get into the interview won’t waste any time with you all right okay our guest is considered to be one of the four most spiritual channels in psychics working today he’s appeared on abc news nightline fox news the biography channel

(00:43) series the unexplained coast to coast am with george newry and bob olson’s afterlife tv he’s also a noted educator having taught at nyu for over 25 years he had a spiritual experience in 87 that started this journey and he is now the author of several rather extraordinary works of channel literature and has just released his latest channel book beyond the known realization which is the sixth in a series described as a program for personal and planetary evolution as humankind awakens to its own divine

(01:15) nature as always he has dialed into the highest vibration to bring forth the most pragmatic spiritual truth we are so excited to welcome back to the show paul selig yeah thanks for having me hello hi so paul a common theme in many of the guides messages in your books is that the the masquerade is coming to an end and the masks are coming off uh in other words it’s time for us to lay down these false images we portray ourselves as and step into our truth so in this moment as you’re witnessing the shift how would you answer the question

(01:52) who are you well i mean i think it’s a hard question for me to answer today i’m on my first cup of coffee but i’ll do my best the first thing you know i want to say i suppose is that the idea of who i am which is the personality structure is what the guides are speaking to is the mask and the idea of who i am is based on a whole lot of stuff a lot of data a lot of information you know where i was born in the world and when and what generation and what gender and what religious background i mean everything

(02:23) that’s happened to me those perpetuate an idea of self or a personality structure and what these guides that come through me teach is that who we are is beyond the personality self they call it the true self or the divine self they call it you know the universal self eternal self and if it really matters but the idea is that there’s an aspect of us that is always true always present whereas the personality or mask is transient in nature there’s nothing wrong with it it’s how we negotiate this

(02:55) reality you know it helps to know what your name is and where you work and you know what you like to eat for dinner all those things are valuable information but finally they’re not the truth of who one truly is so that i think is who i truly am the divine self the true self i don’t know it most of the time that’s for sure because i’m so entrenched in this idea of who i am based on who i think i’m supposed to be and what i was taught to believe in and the transition that the gods are taking us

(03:26) through if i understand it is really the passage between the idea of self you know the masquerade and who one truly is beyond the mask i’m curious since you are the one that the guides are speaking through if this makes you feel the message is more in your core or if it’s actually harder to grasp these mess of these messages and you kind of um because you’re the one that they’re coming through you know it’s a really good question i’m i mean i i i look at myself as the radio for this broadcast

(04:04) and you know i’ve been known to say you know the radio doesn’t always get to dance to the music you know i’m so busy taking this stuff through there are now eight books the eighth isn’t out yet um you know thousands and thousands and thousands of pages at this point of lectures that have come through me and it’s all extremely consistent and i’ve integrated as much as i believe that i’m able to and i continue to work with it i don’t feel when i always have to say this you know i’m not a spiritual

(04:35) teacher i’m not a guru i have no desire to be any of those things i’m happy to show up for this work and learn from it along with other people which seems to be what i get to do um so it’s challenging you see my i have all these books with my name on the cover that i didn’t write and if you can think of that it’s a strange feeling i imagine it’s kind of like what maybe being a surrogate mother might feel like it comes through you but i didn’t write it i spoke at all with my eyes closed the transcripts were

(05:05) typed up now by somebody else the last three or four books were all done publicly in front of students and yeah and there’s no editing you know maybe a word that i mispronounced you know that extent of a change made in any manuscript so there’s all this stuff but because my name is on it and i feel somewhat accountable i question the teaching when it’s too hard for me when i can’t wrap my brain around it when it seems crazy i interrupt my god say paul is interrupting and then they’ll usually

(05:37) take the question um and hopefully that question is is useful for somebody else but it’s how i seem to sort of walk this tightrope of being in this somewhat strange position um so i think if if you were channeling the book you know and i were reading the book that you channel said well this is really interesting or this really resonates in my core and i can do this and there’s still a part of me that goes who the hell am i you know you know i’m not an enlightened being and i i tend to have some qualms with people who show up and

(06:13) announce themselves as enlightened beings i think people that are truly that far along have no need to announce it being themselves you know awareness so yeah i’m answering your question around about way but in some ways i understand it in some ways i’ve integrated pieces of it in i think profound ways and in other ways i’m still going what the hell is this all about yeah i think you’re so humble in the way that you even go about answering that question which to me lends to the fact that you have absorbed a lot of the message uh

(06:49) messages that the guides are putting through and something that comes to mind immediately when it comes to you and how you do this work is that you you know you asked for this in a sense like your story you tell us in in the the first time we had you on uh was how you did consciously say hey like i’m gonna be open and you opened yourself to this and you’ve done a lot of energy work and things that have allowed you to become more intuitive and more open to this type of work and that is largely the reason that you are you know call it

(07:23) chosen or you know you’re the vessel that this work is coming through so there’s something to that maybe on this earthly human plane that is to be heralded or whatever but um i mean the fact that you’re so humble about it is i think that the what you’re what you’re absorbing it shows what you’re absorbing from the guides does that resonate with you i i don’t know i mean a part of me wishes i could have the what feels like the arrogance of knowing well i’m the best at this and i just i

(07:55) just i don’t know how one does that with this kind of work and stays in a place of receptivity um you know when i was a college teacher for a long long time and i you know i you know i had done my own creative work you know as a writer when i was younger and i always knew when i taught a good class and i always knew if i wrote a good play or i did you know i knew those things and i could pat myself in the back some of the time and say that was really great and with this work my awareness is wow that felt really good

(08:27) coming through that felt really clear i felt really out of the way that felt really beautiful at this moment but i mostly forget it about a minute after it’s done it’s like if you can imagine the faucet in the water you know once the water stops running i’m just back to to being paul you know i’m not i’m not the source of the information at the level of personality perhaps there’s a part of me that’s a higher part of me that’s in conversation at that level with the guides and that i do honor you

(08:58) know and i do believe that you know i i show up i give myself credit for what i do do with this um but i don’t think it’s about me in the way that you know somebody else might assume it is it’s not about you know when you get your ego whacked enough times you know and um you you stop seeking the identity that comes with this stuff it’s because that’s temporary too do you understand that yeah absolutely yeah and i think that the the worthiness that we tend to seek as humans you know while we’re here we want to have this sense of

(09:36) worthiness and i think that’s what you’re speaking to there which is part of this existence you know it is part of what we’re doing here yeah i don’t think there’s anything wrong with the worthiness i think the gods speak to that a lot you know we’re innately worthy but we deny it um and i think you know healthy self-esteem or a healthy ego is a positive thing you know when you know that somebody’s walking all over you can say stop it you know that’s a sign of health so i don’t

(10:05) know i mean it’s it’s it’s an odd it’s an odd thing i suspect just in this case because i’m a radio you know and and there is a broadcast there are many broadcasts i think that people can tune into and learn through um this is a very specific one and for whatever reason you know it comes through me this way yeah i think it it’s it’s smart or not necessarily smart you’ve been doing the work long enough to know to literally know that you need to be able to get out of the way in order for

(10:34) this work to come through you clearly so that it can bring a message to all of us because we’re definitely benefiting from it so thank you for that um and it brings to mind also something that you said before which is the millionaire and the beggar are both learning lessons in abundance so maybe can you go into that meeting with us yeah i mean it’s something that they’ve said and it’s a challenging teaching but they say you know and i suspect some of this may have been in response to a lot of teachings that seem to be about

(11:07) you know getting stuff and getting more and you know almost an institutionalized commercialization of of what manifestation is and the guides say we’re always manifesting you know everything that you see they say you’re in agreement to and by agreement that doesn’t mean you approve of it it means you’re in alignment to it so everything in your world you’re aligned to the stuff that’s working for you the stuff that’s not because we’re always in vibration and in co-resonance with what

(11:37) is of like vibration so you know the teaching that you know the millionaire and the beggar are both learning lessons of abundance they’re they’re we’re here to learn and the guides say it’s we who make one thing higher or better than the other that decides that the millionaire is worthy the beggar is not you know and that’s our frame and that’s a cultural frame that we put on it and you know we can do that all we want to but i suspect we’re going to sort of miss the point of being

(12:08) if our sense of well-being or worth or identity is dependent on these things in such a way you know so i don’t know if that’s answering your question but that’s how i understand the teaching i think it is um and another thing that you said that really was interesting i’m still not sure i understand it you said you the guides spoke this to you and and you had some time you took with it to understand it but um it was freedom will come when the throne relinquishes its king yeah can you go into that with us as well i can

(12:45) tell you the story i mean i’m i always say like i’m 99 sure that this came in channel i don’t think i read it someplace i was in my 30s i was probably about 30 32 33 years old and i was opening up and i was beginning to to work with the guides in this kind of way not like i do now i wasn’t lecturing until years later but i was struggling and i heard freedom will come when the throne relinquishes its king and i didn’t know what it meant i wrote it on a piece of paper and i stuck it in a book and it remained there

(13:18) for many years and i do understand it now and i think it’s the essence of the entire teaching and the guides say that the small self which is the personality structure sits in a small throne and you know rules a small kingdom you know what he or she thinks should be and demand should be to confirm an idea of self you know and they say the true self which is the divine self um sits in the throne and aligns to what they call the kingdom which is they they use the word the kingdom in a very specific way they talk

(13:54) about the kingdom as the realization of the inherent divine the god or whatever you want to call god that isn’t all things in all presence so the true self perceives the truth in what he or she experiences the small self realizes himself through i would suspect you know the stuff the ideas of self so how can i i’m going to actually go to the guides on this one because they’re going to say it better than i am and if i if i do channel on this i should just say you know i whisper the words and repeat them and it sounds ridiculous and

(14:30) that’s just how it comes through we’d like to answer this they’re saying we would like to answer this the true self the true self the divine as you the divine as you in operation and operations all things is an alignment to all things of like the british court of like vibrational accord what exists in the kingdom what exists in the kingdom simply as the realization simply is the realization of an obama source professor of the divine that has always been present but off denied but oft denied or suffered from or severed from by the

(14:58) aspect of self by the aspect of self believes herself who believes herself to be in separation first to be in separation from source of the small kingdom so the small kingdom is the small self’s idea is the small self’s idea of a perpetual reality of a perpetuated reality born to an entity born through an identity that disfigures that disfigures or dishonors or dishonors her true identity her true identity the divineness which is the divine as who she is the divine sets in the throne the divine sits in the throne

(15:32) you may call it what you wish you may call it what you wish the true self the christ self the true self the christ itself and the lions and the lines to the inherent divine to the inherent divine that is an expression that is an expression in all manifestation period in the same period so that’s the unpacking so yeah i’m i’m hearing that the the small self that’s related to what our ego wants to hold reign over um is not what it’s all about and it’s a matter of us figuring out the tools

(16:07) maybe the techniques or just the way to be in order to live a different route which would be um accepting and and creating a life where we’re seeing the beauty and all things where we’re able to but you see i think the challenge for me with this stuff seems to be that you can’t sort of do this through force of will you know you can do this through alignment and you do need to operate with choice we’ve been gifted with free will so what aspect of self do i want to you know come forward with i mean the guides

(16:48) often say there’s a few things they often say one is the true self knows the small self thinks and you can test yourself anytime the difference between you know if you go to a time in your life when you knew something i knew i was in love i knew i got the job i knew the relationship was over that knowing has a palpable difference then i think i’m going to have the tuna at the restaurant tonight i’m gonna go see my friend tomorrow and the guides have explained this as you know when you’re in your knowing um

(17:20) there’s no question so when you begin operating from that place of true knowing you begin to operate without all of the data of who we’re supposed to be which has been accrued what we should aspire to we want to be like or who we want to be like all that stuff starts to dissipate because it’s not real you know they’re just a bunch of ideas yeah so you know that’s i don’t know that’s part of the transition i suspect um the teaching the guys are teaching more and more about how to maintain a higher

(17:56) alignment you know so that we’re not sort of being pummeled back and forth as i often am like every time somebody says something obnoxious to me i’m back down okay i break them because i have my reaction and there’s a there are simple things that they teach for example of how to do this for example you can’t be the light and hold another in darkness it’s very simple teaching it’s my favorite quote of yours yeah it’s just theirs but it’s really simple and i we live in a world that invites us

(18:26) to judge and to damn and the guides say what you damn who your damn damns your back and that’s again a teaching of vibrational accord to understand because that guides teach this thing in the new book they call it the upper room and they say it’s just another level of vibration it’s the octave they say that we’re all agreeing to behave through here and the guides often say you can’t lift the evil man to the upper room because you have made him evil and in him evil you have aligned to that level

(19:00) of darkness or density yes that’s judgment what causes us to do that you think fear fear the belief in separation you know i think it’s really that simple it goes back to you can’t be the light and hold another darkness it’s so simple so if what you bless blesses you in return what your damn damns your back or the real simple ideas so to lift the idea of the evil man to the upper room is to let go of the idea of the evil man and realize the inherent divine that still must be present you see the guides say you know god must

(19:36) be or whatever you want to call god i think it matters to them must be in all things or nowhere at all they say what you put in darkness calls you to that darkness and all that darkness is is they say the denial of the divine they say the only real problem any of us have collectively even is what they call the denial of god you know because when you deny god and you put in darkness and that’s where you are and you’re saying that that’s based in fear that’s rooted in fear but on that note um it’s hard to say that all

(20:08) things are of god while there is sex trafficking at record highs the border crisis school shootings you know the list goes on how do we apply this message there it’s a really good question i probably should go to them you know the first time i had to deal with this i was teaching a workshop in calgary alberta was a few years ago and it was a weekend thing and i woke up sunday morning to the to the news of the pulse nightclub shooting in orlando which was a gay bar where everybody got shot up and i had to go channel and the guys

(20:38) delivered a lecture that morning called how to deal with an atrocity and about how to shift consciousness around these things because the guides have said you know we’re accountable to all our acts you know we’re the ones who do this to one another it’s not the divine saying and this teaching has never been about spiritual bypassing or pretending that something is positive when perhaps it’s painful so let me see how they would suggest we apply this would like to answer saying we would like to answer this and wait

(21:09) nothing but like and in a way none of you are going to like the truth of the matter is the truth of the matter is the divine must be personal things divine must be present in all things and you are indeed accountable and you are indeed accountable to everything you choose to everything you choose from a camera and you will incur what you know of as karma through any choice through any choice that you may make as a small self that you may make is a small self or relationship the realization of the inherent divine

(21:35) is something very different is something very different to see a man to see a man know who he is know who he is despite what he has done is to realize who he is is to realize who he is beyond the strata beyond the strata or the octave or the octave of the of what the known has been has been that is the process of lifting that is the process of lifting or re-articulating another or re-articulating another to know the inherent divine to know the inherent divine is indeed to realize it is indeed to realize to make no benefit

(22:08) you make no benefit when you damn another when you dab another what you give darkness to what you give darkness to in fact feeds the darkness in fact feeds the darkness that is ever present that is ever present at that level at that level the only real optimum change the only real opportunity for change is to lift what you see is to lift what you see through the present one to the presence of the device that might be renowned so that it may be re-known you cannot fix anything you cannot fix anything at the level of manifestation

(22:39) at the level of manifestation that is presented as that it is presented as if it holds fear if it holds fear and you wish to align to fear and you wish to align to fear you will be fearful you will be fearful the highway is to operate above it the highway is to operate above it to lift above it to lift above it and lifted you and then lift it to you should be moving so it may be re-known yesterday they’re saying yes you may explain this so the the example that they’ve used that i understand the most with this stuff there’s a lot of stuff

(23:11) on this question in the last couple of books i think because it’s a question that i keep having as well but they say you know we’ve lived for example in a world for so long with war that we expect war that’s all we know we can’t imagine being on a planet without war because it’s always been here so the only real answer here is to lift to the level of consciousness where whereas where war is no longer an option but we can’t do that at the level we’re currently operating from you see that’s

(23:42) the whole idea of re-articulation you lift to that level and the transformation can occur because you’re no longer perpetuating it the idea of fighting something in some ways that i’d say is actually reinforcing the thing you don’t want the idea of going above it and going above it means in consciousness for the realization the divine must be present so that it can be changed so it’s not about pretending things aren’t happening that we find horrible it’s about fi it’s about going above it

(24:15) and lifting it to a place of transformation and that’s metaphysics or what they call alchemy and that’s my understanding you know it’s it’s a funny one for me you know my father was a german jew who you know made it through the holocaust he was a survivor was sent away and i have a whole family limit lineage of sort of what is this crap and you know how do you forgive but i understand forgiveness to mean something rather different the guides say again imagine they say that you’re you’re

(24:45) going up a mountain and you run into a cave and you go into the cave and in that cave is the one person you never want to see again as long as you live and your job then is to invite that person out to escort them out into the light because they say you’re the one that put them in that darkness they’ve called you to the darkness that you put them in so the idea of liberation here is releasing yourself from the darkness or the attachment you put another in which is the only way things really change and

(25:14) that’s the thing we don’t want to hear yeah it’s hard it’s really hard right so i’m curious too since we are all the divine do you think that this means that the books written by you or other spirit-led beings are also able to be used or viewed as the living word of god like like christians view the bible i mean i don’t know you know i’m i wasn’t raised religious you know i was raised sort of an atheist to be honest with you and um the first time i really cracked the new testament was when i was told by

(25:47) the guides to read john aloud you know and that was when i was yeah i was a trip i was in my early 30s and i’ve been hearing um in meditation i was a good meditator in those days i kept hearing jerusalem bible and meditation what the hell is this i finally went to a bookstore and i said is there something called the jerusalem bible and there was and it’s a very good translation it’s not the king george you know thou and the it’s a very translation from the rma and i and i did what i said read john aloud i said okay

(26:19) so i sat up in bed for two nights and did it and then the guides brought through the first attunement that they call the word the attunement of the word and they call the word the energy of the creator in action and years later they delivered their first book about that which was the book called i am the word which was channeled in 2009 so i can’t put this in a canon along with it’s a spiritual text it’s a channel text it’s a deliberate text and i think that there have been many in many cultures throughout time

(26:53) do i think that everything that claims to be channel is of a high vibrational accord not necessarily yeah there’s lots of stations you can play in a radio and i tend to be very cautious myself when people are teaching fear and separation you know because that tends to be low-level stuff and i don’t know how that heals anybody so but you know that’s a station some folks are playing and i’m not going to invalidate it it’s just not what my guides teach and i’m in this weird position i don’t

(27:25) even read anybody’s stuff i read half a step book when i was probably your age and you know in between you know bar jaunts thought it was really interesting and i never finished it but i i don’t read other work that’s that’s channeled because i keep this whole thing pure right that’s all so i don’t really have opinions about what others are doing it’s just not for me to do i’m attending a church that i really love but they don’t typically preach from the bible they they spent three weeks teaching from a

(27:56) book called white fragility about racism and i love it but sometimes when i bring people they’re like we don’t really like it because they don’t preach from the bible and i’m like yeah thank god because there’s other books that can be used just in the same way so i was curious but you you also brought up teaching and fear and that is what a lot of um you know religious organizations do so i was curious what your views are on heaven and hell since also thinking we can’t be separated from god

(28:20) what is this well i mean i you know the guides i don’t i don’t get that there is a hell as has been taught to be i fearful i don’t get that um i don’t know that they’ve talked i think they did talk about it one of their books actually and there’s so many of them and i forget what they said but this is how i understand it we’re operating in what the guides call an octave right they don’t talk about dimensions they talk about octaves in music and they say within an octave there are

(28:49) high and low notes which is high vibration and low vibration and what they’re doing with us is lifting us to what they call the upper room which is the next level of vibration or the octave above the one we’re used to operating in which they say is where realization occurs you know it doesn’t really happen at the level that we become so accustomed to we actually have to lift beyond it and then what ends up happening is we’re able to lift what we encounter to that level of vibration because you become in

(29:20) some ways a doorway or you know um a portal to the higher once your vibration is up here because you’re always in co-resonance you end up lifting what you encountered to you so the idea of hell for me truthfully is the denial of the divine it has nothing to do with religion at all i think you can frankly have i’ve known atheists that are far more healthy and have a more profound spiritual life than people that i know who you know profess to be you know highly religious i think it has a fair amount to do with the realization of the

(29:59) sanctity of all human life or all life if you want to go that far and the realization that there is something else that’s sort of operating with us i don’t know if it’s about immorality in a traditional way much of morality is born through religious teachings but i do know what the guides say and the guides say you know all is holy and when you know that you don’t kill what you know to be holy you know and that’s i think reverence for life you know and the planet and everything else so what is heaven i think heaven is the

(30:38) realization of the divine that’s the kingdom and i get from the guides it doesn’t have to be where you go to when you die which is what we’ve been taught this is what the guys have said and this helped me a lot they said you’ve all been raised to believe that if there is a god it’s up there and you’re stuck here in the mud and they say well god is the mud and it’s also your bone marrow and you know the freckle on your back and you know the child crying down the hall and what you see

(31:06) out the window it must be present in all things or it can be nowhere at all you don’t get to cherry pick what’s god and so the realization of manifestation that’s what claims the lifting because when you’re not denying the divine you’re not perpetuating violence you’re not perpetuating hatred you’re not lying to fear the guides say the action of fear is to claim more fear they say look at every choice you’ve made in your whole life and see what it got you probably it’s more fear

(31:38) and we’re taught to fear we’re taught to be fearful of people and we’re taught to you know damn and punish truthfully the guides say you know we still have a town square that we hang people in we just do it in different ways now that’s not true and it doesn’t it hasn’t they say it’s never really helped you know yeah i uh the idea even the idea when when you’re speaking here about lifting and and this upper octave room i have fear around the idea only because i think it separates us in a way but i

(32:12) know that those are those are the words we have right like these are the words we have so we’re using what we have um and even on the show we use the term gray area like trying to be comfortable in this usually uncomfortable area of chaos that is not analytical and is not al you know all set up in perfect little boxes the way our human brains want to perceive things and getting more comfortable in that place and facing the fears that live in there for for the individual um so there’s nothing really more i want to

(32:45) say to that it’s just a matter of the way we can understand it is multiple ways if if for anyone listening it might be triggering you when we talk about lifting or having this you know other place that we have to get to yeah i thank you for saying that i think that they use the upper room as an illustration or the higher octave as an illustration of vibration i don’t think it’s a place we land at um i think it’s a place we align to and alignment is nothing more than vibrational accord you understand so

(33:21) when i’m in high vibration and in a high awareness i’m not operating in fear and if i’m still being triggered which i often am by my stuff and i’m moving into fear i have that experience the guides say we can learn through everything and fear is just not the best teacher we can have i’d say you know if we all want to as a civilization we can blow ourselves up for good and learn through that and they say there’s no judgment if we choose that i don’t get that we’re going to choose that but we can we do have

(33:54) choice and the guides say you know you’ve created bombs to keep yourself safe which is the craziest thing i’ve ever heard kept anybody safe and so they’re meant to go off so again it’s about a big shift in consciousness where we stop aligning to that do you think that um psychedelics are a way to access this upper room or the spiritual realm or what do you think goes on while we’re on them because i am a student of plants i’ve had about 18 ceremonies and i feel like when i’m on them

(34:25) that is what i’m closer to i don’t doubt it you know i i’m an odd person to ask i got sober when i was 25 and because of it it’s not because i think plant medicine is addictive or anything it’s just a door that i’ve kept closed because my awareness and my abilities kicked in once my system was clean you know i was shocked i started seeing the lights around people once i was you know sober for a little bit it was like what the hell was going on here and that was the beginning for me but

(34:55) i’m somebody that’s done everything that one can conceivably do to dull their nervous system because i’m sensitive you know and i’d prefer not to feel whether it’s smoking four packs a day or overeating or whatever so the plant medicine stuff there’s a lot i do a lot of workshops and you know you’re both welcome to come sometime if i’m in your hood yeah um but people come to the workshops who’ve got a background with plant medicine and they say oh my god this is just like being in a

(35:23) ceremony they’re having the experiences of because the guys when when they work bring through the energy it sounds like the plant medicine speaking yeah it’s like it’s very palpable and people have these experiences with it and um what the guides have said about plant medicine is it’s catalytic there’s nothing wrong with it but the challenge is that it needs to be integrated because other than that you’re looking for something externally to bring you to a level of vibration or consciousness

(35:54) and if you’re looking then just for the affect of that and you’re not integrating what is learned there then it becomes problematic for some you know it’s just that’s all i relate to that a lot when i um because i see chakras and animal allies and um you know auras and um if i have smoked weed that week or if i’ve had alcohol at all i don’t drink much but if i have a glass of wine my visions are very blurry um but i notice when i do plant the more i do plant medicine the more they’re

(36:24) turned on um but this last ceremony my 18th one um the medicine said that i won’t be back for a while and this was something i was almost i i feel like i almost developed a co-dependence on the medicine for growth and she said you’re not going to be back for a while your new ceremony is to let love be a healing force for you um and i’ve stepped into a healthy relationship for the first time in my life and it has been the most healing thing last year when you were on you channeled my last partner and it was a very

(36:55) very strong channeling and it was a very unhealthy relationship so now i’m not dealing with trauma in a relationship and my relationship now is being very healing so that was a really cool message to receive but yeah um do you think though that when we get messages from plant medicine that it is the same as the guides messages or is that just our higher higher self that you speak of this i hear it’s integrated through the higher self the higher self-consciousness or the higher self in some way is the transistor

(37:23) that you get the message from from whatever spirit you’re lined to from whatever spirit you’re aligned to when i’m active in a high octave so i don’t know that they’re the same and perhaps if i were to do a ceremony and one day perhaps i will i might go oh there you are you know i was a woman who came to a workshop that i did last week in canada who was a you know a professional medium and she works with the police you know and i respect those people that do missing persons and things and um

(37:52) you know she went to bed after the first night of the workshop and said okay talk to me you know she wanted to know if she could get the guy she said the guys talked to her all night long and she saw them which was kind of great i thought and she was and she said you know this is just um and she said something she said okay why paul she wanted to know why paul and the guide and she described the god it’s how i see the guy too so i knew she was on a level wow and um they said he said why not you know well

(38:19) why not and why not anybody and um the idea i suspect is that you know it’s a radio station so if i were to find and plant medicine that there they are and this is what we’ve all been hearing i’d say great um personally i think that would be quite wonderful so i know it benefits many many people and i i meet people on occasion because i when i when i read for people psychically i just i tune in i just tune into the station that’s them their radio station and some people i tune into and i’m like whoa

(38:53) like my it’s like whoa everything’s cosmic but they’re not in their body you know they’re not present and it’s like i don’t want to have to have a job anymore i’m living in my parents basement again it’s all you know i go you know well maybe you need to integrate you know integrate and and and then be in your life in this higher way so i i’m not the expert on this but i um you know my my friend you know aubrey marcus wrote the introduction to the last book realization and he’s a a big

(39:25) proponent and yeah his work is what initially got me into the medicine so wonderful wow yeah yeah he’s a good friend of the show yeah uh that also just brings to mind for me so i haven’t experimented with plant medicine myself and so a lot of the time on the show which is why jade and i think are good pairing together because we can kind of speak to both sides of that and i think there are ways to bring up the same things the same therapy the same um ideas that get you you know bridge the gap from here to there here to you know

(40:03) from here maybe being small self to to stepping into your true self uh and it could be as simple as pondering a sunset and maybe that type of medicine is more integrative in the moment because it takes more time you have to actually sit with it and do the work or because there’s always a sunset and you can kind of count on that reminder over and over so i think there’s so many ways and it’s just a matter of deciding for yourself where which which tools you’re going to use today or i think people are led you

(40:32) know i haven’t been led as of now to plan medicine um if i suspect one day i were to be feel that i was i might honor that but it’s not been my path and there are many paths i mean what the guides are teaching if i understand it really is mysticism you know and it’s about a personal experience of the divine that’s a mystical experience it’s not an intellectual one it’s not a moral one it’s an experience of of being with and knowing you’re part of which is what i understand some people

(41:04) are receiving through ceremony but it’s not the only way i think if it’s been the only way you know it would it would leave a whole lot of people out same thing as religion you know it’s not the only way i love that you speak to it being mysticism because i feel like that is uh that’s one of those words that gets it’s it’s it’s just out you know we don’t really know what that means that’s the point though is that we it’s not analytically accessible necessarily and i live so much in my

(41:34) analytical mind but i know the places that i love most about myself you know the places where i go oh i’m really being authentically me is the places where people go mercedes you’re such a mystic and i didn’t realize i was in that realm i didn’t realize it until someone might point it out to me and i go i need to try to figure out how to live there more often because i’m so highly in my analytical mind constantly yeah no i understand i really do i think the mystical is the experiential and i think we’re hungry for an

(42:06) experience of of the divine i mean that’s how i got into this stuff you know i wasn’t i’m not a good new ager you know there are new agers that get angry at me because you know i’m not showing up in the way others might have me show up as you know i don’t look right i don’t channel right you know i should be doing it this way you know i often say you know i’m not the teacher which pisses people off you know i mean it’s just whatever that is but and i don’t know what i was saying

(42:33) because i was complaining about myself yeah but but you know when i was young when i was 25 and i and i cleaned up i actually i mean i’ll call this story sometimes i tell the story i don’t think i told it on on this last time but you know i was working as i was working i was a playwright i was a year out of yale and i was working on an opera in minneapolis and i was put up in a hotel in saint paul it was the gopher campus motor lodge had a giant gopher on a spit outside my window you know and i didn’t know where the

(43:05) drugs were in st paul when i was a mess and i i knew i was in trouble i didn’t know if i could name the trouble really i’ve been on you know i just knew i was in some kind of crisis and the gideons leave these little bibles in the drawers of hotels and i opened it up and i said prayer for people in crisis and i couldn’t get behind the bible but i could get behind a prayer for people in crisis i was willing so i said it and three days later you know i was back in new york i think i spent my last dollar partying and i went to bed and i

(43:38) woke up the next morning and i said what can i do for myself today that’s positive and i heard a voice and it was the first voice and when i hear the voice it’s like a thought comes that blocks out all other thoughts it’s like whoa like that you know it’s still that way when i channel it just intrudes into the forefront of consciousness and it told me what to do when i did it it was the first that was the beginning but so for me that was already extraordinary but a few months later i heard there was this thing happening the

(44:09) harmonic convergence people are going to be waking up and i thought well if there is something like a god and you ask to be woken up why would it want to say no didn’t make any sense to me because i didn’t have a lot of baggage so i went up and i asked and i ended up having and i may have been hyperventilating i’ll never know what really maybe when i’m dead i’ll know what really happened but you know this experience of energy moving through my body and after the top of my head which people might have said sounded

(44:34) like a kundalini awakening and i don’t know why you know but for me that was experiential and i needed i was enough of a skeptic and i still can be and i honor skepticism you know i think you know to to disavow something without investigation is stupid but i think you know i look at some stuff and i go well whatever you know i know it’s not for me i try not to judge but i needed an experience that was my own that had some validity to it it wasn’t about somebody waving a crystal over my head or telling me you’ve been

(45:08) forgiven son or any of that stuff i needed something that was personal to me and when the guides work and they bring their energy through they’re giving that for other people and the good news about that is then they don’t have to defer to me because i don’t want it i got enough of my own headaches but they can they’ve had their own experience and that is a form of mysticism i think it is sort of your own experience of whatever you want to call god or source or the universe and um i think there are

(45:39) different ways to access it but i think it’s quite important yeah and my intellect gets in the way too because i want to know intellectually yeah right and um you know and then sometimes that happens sometimes it doesn’t yeah um may we like we did last time may we both ask you a question specific to our lives and see if the guides come through with an answer yeah i mean i may tune in to you and do it psychically i work two ways i work as tuning to people and sometimes the guides come through in response to the question okay

(46:10) yes if you like we can try thank you um so i i have a daughter and a son uh three and four years old and my son and i are very close um we connect really deeply he like me sees flashing lights and i think he has a similar gift um my daughter however we’ve always had a very difficult relationship she doesn’t like my affection she tells me she doesn’t love me um and i don’t know if because that toxic relationship ended because she was a daddy’s girl if she maybe blames me for him being gone or if it’s just a

(46:43) personality thing but we have just this um it’s just a difficult relationship and i’m wondering how i can love her how she needs and how i can maybe meet her where she’s at okay give me um i’m going to turn into you first i’m going to ask your daughter’s name once i’m into you that’s all right okay so i’m going to get you first so this is i mean this is anxiety around this yeah and you’re watching watching watching and you keep sort of saying i’m not screwing up i don’t think i’m screwing

(47:13) up like at the same time i don’t know what i’m doing in relation this is how i feel you so give me her name if that’s okay jaya maria cook let me see if i can get her that’s the energy yeah it’s the energy of prove it and it’s a little bit of i don’t trust you i think i think there is some anger here and i do think you nailed it i hear he i’m assuming that means father loved me more than you and it’s almost a feeling of you made him go away let me see what shifts here okay um is her father in the picture yes because

(48:03) i actually think that he’s part of how this shifts interesting very um very little in the picture um but i don’t know if maybe something’s been said to her i don’t know let me go i don’t know that that’s the issue i actually suspect that he may be part of the solution to me exactly right because the division is there and when somebody’s sort of in the middle of two parents when there’s but i get this a lot i usually say like the tennis match you know you don’t know who i to go on let’s see what’s gonna heal

(48:31) this because that’s really what’s important just her first name please jaya let me just go to her and see what else this in a funny way the kid wants to be told that she’s the best thing ever i’m the best thing ever i also feel and this is i mean i wouldn’t i’m not a parent certainly but it’s almost like she wants to be told that she’s better than her sibling this is the kid who needs to be important this is somebody who needs to be told how valuable she is i feel there’s a funny way that the kid

(49:14) feels i’m going to use the word tarnished by something you know it’s a funny word to use that’s what i’m hearing some of this i want to suspect is about the fear of losing you too truthfully and a little of it is about unattaching unattaching so that she doesn’t feel hurt i understand that and it’s like almost like if i don’t if i if i have to really trust you and love and be loved by you i could lose you too and that feels frightening let me go to you and ask you at a high level you i mean you’re saying you need to

(49:54) give both the kids equal attention but she needs to be praised more and she needs to be sought out and i almost want to say sought out they’re using the word special endeavors which means take her with you just bring her with you for special things she gets it this is a smart kid that’s part of so smart very smart so she’s interpreted a lot she’s a second child so she didn’t have the undivided attention that the first child had before she was around but the plant medicine recently told me to have

(50:29) like girls days with her and i’ve tried multiple times and she says i don’t want to and i’m not going to force her so that’s kind of what i was getting with special endeavors that’s exactly what i was getting was take her with you and i do get it’s a wise idea i think if you take her anyway she may like it you know when you when you say the father is a part of the solution yeah i mean let me ask um are you comfortable saying his name is it okay uh scott cook you go to him he’s like

(51:01) backing off there’s a little i can’t get involved and i get a little spooked i feel a little spooked about this for some reason um he scoops the kid up and does his thing but this isn’t real attention right now you know what i mean it’s just yeah there’s the kid so let me see how he’s part of the solution in a weird way i almost wish he could verify you for her you know what i mean verify your work it’s almost like you got a good mother and she does never been said yeah but that’s almost what i feel is is

(51:45) palpably yeah my new partner says that all the time and he’s a healthy masculine in front of her yeah there’s no there’s no yelling there’s a lot of love and i’m hoping that heals her and i’m helping him saying that stuff in front of her i’m going to ask if she outgrows this i mean i i get yes it’s tempered it’s temperature you need to woman she says the kid needs you more than she says that’s all and so you might need to be allowed to be where she is come to you and come to

(52:11) you when she needs you when she needs you the trust is reborn the trust is reborn through merit i hear through merit these are the guys now through merit what works what works what has been successful so in some ways the more successful encounters you have the trust gets rebuilt through that but some of that is about her coming to you exactly okay all right okay thank you you’re welcome mercedes yes sorry that makes me tearful makes me think of my own childhood for some reason and the separation and wanting your parent to be there so

(52:46) fervently that they they literally say no we’re gonna be together we’re i’m choosing you i’m choosing you that was my big dilemma there which we spoke through last time paul thank you but the question i have for you today is that i’m i’m struggling i feel with my attachment to people and maybe even to the idea of love specifically and i often feel like i’m not being loved by my husband as deeply as i love him so it’s like an ego thing it’s an attachment thing and and even though

(53:20) when i dissect this idea it’s really more about the way i want to be shown love i think rather than him not loving me and so i’m wondering if there’s any way i can begin to grasp more balance here okay i’m going to tune in to you first and i may ask for your husband’s name if that’s okay well you actually come through say the question again what just phrases is a simple question is there a way i can begin to grasp more balance when it comes to my attachment to people and love there’s a part of you that comes through

(53:58) saying everything has got to be what i say it is and this is a way that you keep yourself safe it’s determined and functional a part of you that may want your husband to be someone he’s not going to be truthfully it’s not who he is and i here love him anyway can i have his name chris chavone that’s him he’s like i’m here a little goofy big open open really open guy i actually want to say his heart’s really open right but his it’s like i’m alive as his energy wow i’m alive like

(54:41) the energy of disguise it’s good to be alive i’m here i’m happy to be here and with you it’s like come on already come on already i almost want to say let’s be joyful and some of this is like let’s have sex let’s die let’s see you know what big big big positive stuff it’s funny because he does come through quite happy to be and you come through much more procedural in terms of how you operate you know a little bit more of a narrow path narrow bandwidth where you can sort of keep everything

(55:21) sort of under control or tightly seen so is the question of how do i love more or do i get it overly attached to people what’s the what’s the question yeah um why am i struggling with the feeling that i need to be loved in a certain way instead of just accepting the love it’s about being in control it’s what i got the first time and it’s about being safe and you see the certain way for you is a little bit about a compartmentalization of what things should be it should be this way it should look

(55:57) like this if it looks like this it’s okay i can manage this the other stuff i actually back away from a bit because it feels a little messy to me un controllable what does that mean let me go i’m going to tune in to you and see what you want to tell me there’s a fair sense of you needing to be who you want to be who you want to be and anything that doesn’t confirm that feels like it has to be managed or excluded a little bit and i feel that some of what this guy comes with which is this expansiveness makes you

(56:39) contract a bit you know and move back into it’s a little like somebody says wow look at all the food i brought home it’s a banquet and you said i’m having a salad you know that’s what i’m gonna have i’m gonna have a salad that’s overwhelm it’s too much i can’t i can’t manage that um let the man be who he is anyway love him anyway and i gotta say let love be messy wonderfully messy wonderfully messy or something it’s not supposed to be anything other i also hear love may not always look

(57:13) like love but may reflect all things good but may reflect all things good even frustration and love relational love relationship can be a demonstration it can be a demonstration of love because you want and you don’t know how to give to them what they need i hear bless him as he is bless you as your bless you as you are and enjoy what you’ve created and enjoy what you’ve created well i hear you’re learning from it well period so i don’t know if any of that made sense but they’re saying you’re learning

(57:46) from it well and the guys say you know we’re here to learn that’s all that that’s all this really is that’s what i’m doing learning a whole lot in this well in all my relationships i feel like maybe that’s part of this question is that it i’ve used my relationship so much in in my ability to learn that it maybe is more about needing to release some of that and just be in it you know i get that i mean it’s about letting go of the control and allowing it to be what it is you know

(58:14) and enjoy it you know he feels like a good guy when i tune into him yeah he is oh okay wait i do want to ask you one more thing paul about the podcast about our ventures here is because just of late we’ve been having some it feels like turbulence um around getting people involved you know employing people to really show up trying to get them to show up for the work that is helping us put this out into the world and it feels like we can’t all do it all ourselves but it feels like we know you at this point

(58:48) well and my concern is you may not be being being taken seriously yes by some of the people you bring in yes and that’s going to be a challenge toward there until they’re there and they get it i mean the truth of the matter is your grown-ups and your business women and you know what you’re doing i mean that’s the fact when i tuned into this the concern is i feel you’re getting people that sort of say well it doesn’t really matter does it you know the energy of it doesn’t really matter if i’m on time you know doesn’t

(59:21) matter if i if i give you what you asked for when i said it would it’s a little casual directive i hear b directive up front up front and what does that mean it just means your your ideas of what’s needed what’s really needed and a sense of order is present what doesn’t work with this this situation for me is come on in you’ll find your way we’re a family i don’t feel i feel that that can come when somebody understands what their role is in the situation but it’s not the best doorway to enter into which feels casual

(1:00:03) this feels everything feels it’s about like a little bit about construction in some formality and that’s just foundational to how things run and operate i really don’t get that it’s personal you may be looking a little bit about somebody else’s ideas of who you are what this is and moving into that energy instead of what you’re really presenting this is this is that holds a lot of weight for me but i was wondering if on on to add on to that if this holds any weight for you um or the guides

(1:00:43) everyone we’ve employed have been men and i wonder if jade and my um relationship to men generally are growing up you know whatever our wound our our childhood wounds and traumas through men reflect in those relationships with the employees as well well i want to say yes and no but my sense and i didn’t want to say it but i was that was my question was that you weren’t being taken seriously enough on a very practical level but the concern is is that people have decided who you are and what this is

(1:01:15) before entering into the situation that’s all do you understand that yes yeah so it’s like oh wow this is going to be fun yes and you know enough and but well maybe it will be but that’s not the point of it right now understand this so let me see if there’s anything you’re attracting i’m in my senses that what may be a commonality here for both of you is a sense of trying to prove yourself you know beyond what you’re known as [Music] see the interesting thing about being known in this way i hear you’re known

(1:01:49) through your image but you’re both known beyond you both know yourselves beyond that in really smart ways you understand that you’re both very smart women i mean this has been one of the better interviews i’ve done in a long time yeah no you’re welcome so so part of what you’re doing is you’re asserting a claim of authority here that’s necessary and i want to suggest in the face of other ways of being valued you understand other ways you know so um and i hear and this is good news productive for you

(1:02:26) so what you’re doing here is actually productive because it’s promoting growth whenever i hear the word productive when i read it usually means it’s not very comfortable you know what i mean but it’s really good you know this is just about you coming into your own and as frankly directors and that’s what it feels like directors of your your work what you want how you want to be and how you really want and need to be addressed as so this is all very positive i’ve seen mercedes as a director in a past life of her so

(1:02:58) that’s an interesting word to come through um before we move on to our closing questions there real quick um i was curious if you had anything to add on to the plant medicine saying that love my new relationship is going to be my new ceremony because i do fear betrayal so much is there something maybe that i need to um i you know let me because i it’s funny because i never commented what other people’s guides say and if this case that’s what your your guides are telling you through planets and

(1:03:26) that’s that’s your message and that needs to be held in that space um can i have your partner’s name is that okay tom holcomb he comes through thoughtful actually dutiful and a little careful with you it’s the energy of somebody saying i’m doing this right doing this right i mean this is the guy that’s like remembers to bring home the milk when you say remember you know what i mean and so that’s coming now for that way yeah but this isn’t coming without effort or thoughtfulness on his part it does come

(1:04:04) from an awareness of who he sees you as and what he believes you need and i suspect he gets that you need dependability that’s important and i feel that this guy is doing what he can to support this and this is loving you this is part of how he loves you freedomland and you know being loving i hear this is loving you is about being there for you in the ways that he can that’s it so let me go to you to this you are still going am i allowed to have this and is it going to blow up on me don’t want that to happen i don’t see

(1:04:41) that happening right now i don’t see any need for it you’ve been known a little bit through what you can give to others and i think this is a bit of a switch for you to understand yeah and the idea of you know i’m allowed to receive i mean for me that’s a big one it’s a mantra for me i’m allowed it’s okay it’s okay to be loved all those things worthy do you want to pull that one in sure so um elizabeth on instagram asks for those of us that are realizing we have some gifts similar

(1:05:21) clairvoyant or clairaudient etc a lot of us wonder if it’s our imagination or if it’s really the spirit speaking to us what would be your best advice here and how would you encourage us to step more into these gifts well i mean i say this to people often when people are opening up clear audiently to hearing i say be very wary of messages that are fearful or are telling you what you want to hear or telling you how special you are because that stuff tends to be low energy and appeals to you you know so that’s a simple barometer

(1:05:51) um i learned to do this work for other people you know when i worked i mean it was always in service other people it’s not about getting a pipeline to get my own stuff so i was getting validation for what i was learning through clients through people that i was working with energetically doing energy work um practice i hear for her that guys are saying practice and discernment those are the two things you learn through doing what you’re understanding but you learn discernment through awakening through weighing the information

(1:06:19) claiming vulnerability and claiming validity when it’s proven out when it is proven out of the voice get used to the voice or the intuitive sense or the intuitive sentence it is indeed proven out it’ll become a muscle it will become as a muscle that can be relied upon that can be relied upon period missing period that’s good thank you i think that’s great advice i think i’m going to use some of that advice too okay paul we have asked you these last time around so it’ll be interesting to

(1:06:47) know if you answer them the same or you have different answers this time around so if you could well i think we asked it slightly different last time but let’s go with this if you could hug your younger self right now what would you say don’t be so afraid last time you said forgive yourself sooner oh that’s a good one how old were you when you were hugging yourself just now six or seven don’t be what were you afraid of everything you know everything really it was it was a scary time i’d lost a

(1:07:27) parent i had a mother who was very frightened of you know everything truthfully so there was a lot of fear and i inhaled a great deal of it you know because that was the atmosphere to to operate in yeah if you could have the whole world read one book which would it be oh my gosh i have no idea i really don’t i wouldn’t dare to say one of the ones that have come through me well we’ll dare that what would i say i don’t know i couldn’t say i mean i could say you know the the bhagavad-gita or the bible the dog

(1:08:09) i wouldn’t say it because i think people are led to what they need and that’s what’s most important i don’t think one size ever fits all yeah that’s almost exactly what you said last time and you brought up how because then mercedes said well which of your books since you don’t have an answer and you said that sometimes they fall off the shelf and so it’s whatever you’re called to yeah yeah did you i do wonder though did you ever have like maybe a movie um or some maybe a show even that really

(1:08:36) resonated with you specifically in the time you needed it and you said wow this came to me on purpose yeah when i was in my 20s there was a book by emmett fox called sermon on the mount he was a new thought teacher that my old therapist gave me um she was great hurricane harriet she was a tall leggy like x-ray cat she was a tough broad you know read his book spiritual that really did help me and it’s all it’s always been sort of an alignment with what’s come true from the guys i work with so that was powerful for me

(1:09:14) i’ll leave it at that okay i like that um if you could whisper one phrase to everyone on the planet what would it be love yourself more than you think you need it [Music] that’s really good yeah thank you paul thank you both yeah your work uh you know and i hope this brings you some validation to your human form if you seek it or you need it but your work has already just because of the research we did the first time around and having you on the show and you speaking to us um with all the things you’re doing through

(1:09:51) your books and through the channel channeling your guides but also through the one-on-one you know mini session you kind of give us when we do these episodes with you has shifted both jade and i think that if we even went back and looked at what we talked about with you last time we could see that it has changed the trajectory of our life to some degree so the work you’re doing is really important and really helpful so thank you thank you for saying that thank you thank you so much paul my pleasure cool so well um we’ll email sarah when this is

(1:10:25) available and um we’ll also email her the promo videos like we did last time great thank you this was fun now where are you where are you both located i’m in austin not far from aubry i’m in southern california orange county okay well if either of you are interested i’ll just tell sarah our coming to a workshop we’re going to be in austin in this for a one day thing i think in february yeah there’s something in and well orange going something in l.

(1:10:57) a yeah coming up in like a week and a half or something i think is that with aubry or no no i’m doing something with aubry too and malibu just a couple of hours i’m doing the day after that which is a saturday i think i’m doing a day-long workshop um that’s so cool hollywood some place at den meditation okay great anyway i’ll just put it out there to sarah and if it’s something you want to attend to just let her know i’d love to we’ll catch you on the list okay all right thank you so much paul have a wonderful

(1:11:25) weekend so all you do if you can just click end meeting we’re all set with you got it bye-bye thank you bye bye that was a great pen at some point i don’t know i know you were like a muppet you were like it got caught on the table and then it just kept moving it’s so interesting when he um when he’s speaking even just as him um there’s something about the pitch of his voice that is to me it comes through not even as human and i’m always curious is everyone else hearing it as i’m hearing it because

(1:11:58) it’s weird it makes my whole body cold but sweaty interesting i have sweat dripping down my arms but i’m freezing yeah and it i don’t normally have that effect people don’t always have that effect on me and it’s it’s when he’s speaking it’s the weirdest that is interesting i don’t know i i’m cold because it’s freaking cold here today it’s weird it’s so cold and my ac i have off because i mean my heat yeah uh okay so what do you have for magic yeah i was gonna say did we want to

(1:12:37) i was trying to do that without having anyone having to edit so i was i was trying to go straight through sorry um so what do you have for magic my magic trick today actually kind of leads back to what paul was saying about how to how to start to hone your intuition and how to look into those places in yourself um that maybe you haven’t tapped into yet or maybe you don’t even realize you are tapping into constantly and this is a way you can see that more clearly so as i was talking about on the show um i’m someone who tends to use

(1:13:16) her analytical minds to navigate and solve just about everything that i come up against and of course this has been a great tool for me and there’s obviously lots of reasons why i have decided to build that side of my you know brain inability but i think i’d really benefit from balancing out my over analytical left brain tendencies by moving over into my right brain and especially into my body more often um so as henry poncare french mathematician theoretical physicist engineer and philosopher of science says

(1:13:53) it is through science that we prove but through intuition that we discover and i know that this is true because um i’ve experienced it firsthand i’m sure everyone listening to this has experienced this as well i’ll get super frustrated over a problem that i’m unable to solve in the moment and so i’m forced to leave it you know leave it be for a few days but when i come back to it after my subconscious has had the chance to mull it over i have a whole new perspective on it and i’m usually

(1:14:23) able to make great strides towards solving it in a way that my analytical mind would have never been able to conjure up um i do have that experience too jade yes definitely if you sleep on it or something like that you’re like okay that totally helped me solve this and sometimes it’s just because sleep helps me regulate my emotions yes i’m coming from more of a logical place yeah but also um i feel like a lot of times when i’m going to bed i can be an emotional mess even if i’m not tired i’m an emotional mess and i i

(1:14:53) almost want to like pick a fight to like you know and then when i wake up in the morning i’m like that wasn’t a big deal at all i’m so glad i didn’t act on that we’ve said it here before h-a-l-t like don’t try to solve a problem when you’re hungry angry lonely or tired because those will not but i try to balance it with not being having island-like tendencies where i’m like i’m gonna go to bed yes you know to try to still um so to not close off if i’m in that mindset to still be loving to still be

(1:15:22) affirming and then just see where i’m at in the morning totally i think you can table an issue you know be you okay you’re triggered you recognize you’re triggered and you go okay you know what i’m dealing with hunger angry lonely or tired so i’m gonna find a safe and healthy way to to table it especially if it’s with your spouse or you know with the with a person but i’m saying like any issue that might come up in your mind that you have to make a decision okay do i want to you rearrange my life to move to

(1:15:47) somewhere new or you know whatever the big decision is i think that if we can figure out how to use more intuition instead of just the analytical if we can balance those two things out we get a better over outcome and we get it faster and it’s one that sticks you know it’s one that is actually the decided from the truth of our being instead of just the left brain uh or at least for me that’s what i think i need to balance out yeah i get that but maybe i’m just overthinking it because that’s what i do so i was going

(1:16:17) to put together some steps for deepening your intuitive abilities but then i realized that that was my analytical mind just trying to make order out of something that’s not able to be neatly packaged it’s like what paul was saying exactly if you do exactly let me control this so hopefully this helps so instead i’m just gonna say that if you’d like to join me in honing your intuition i’d invite you to start making space for this in your life so it’s really what i all all that’s it just

(1:16:44) make some space for this maybe just take five to ten minutes a day that’s what i’m going to try to do where i just sit with my self and listen to my body specifically because i think that’s very much out of your analytical mind is listening to your body um and whatever that means to you you’re like if this is resonating with you and you feel like called to do this then don’t worry about it being right because that’s the you know don’t worry about am i meditating right because that’s the

(1:17:08) whole point of meditation is it’s okay to be a little messy it’s okay to just sit with whatever comes up because that’s the point you’re making space for this this intuitive side of you to rise up and let you help and help you out you know whatever you need help with so maybe just ask questions that are weighing on you and let the answers come up when you sit for the five or ten minutes you might take with yourself see how they come up they might come up in any different ways it could be through

(1:17:40) um you know feeling i mean maybe people smell something literally all the senses think about all how your different senses work and um yeah like i said a little meditation maybe oh another good tool might be to just be creative and see whatever comes up while you’re in that flow state again i’m pitching tools because that’s what i do so yeah i’m going to stop now my actual intuition i noticed for myself you guys have heard me speak about it here on the show a lot jade we talk about a lot is through my dreams where i

(1:18:15) literally have no control of any consciousness you know what that’s why yeah yeah that’s why but then it’s so cool maybe that’s why they come up so strong for me so vividly because you’re not in control i’m finally not in control my body’s like i’ve been trying to so show you some you aren’t listening right right that’s true i’m going to start making you hallucinate if you don’t start listening to me here um that’s good i like that my magic trick is a lot simpler

(1:18:43) um uh but it’s just to go see one of the films about mr rogers oh i know that seems odd but there’s the documentary uh won’t you be my neighbor then there’s the one that tom hanks was in that’s um uh it’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood and then there’s another one on netflix which is like a documentary about his life but they are all so powerful because they have to me a similar effect on me that tom shadyac and paul selig does and it’s just the fact that um whatever they’re doing at that moment

(1:19:17) seems to be the most important thing to them because they’re so present yeah um excuse me have such a bad cold um and so i’m gonna have to edit these coughs out for a second so the the unique thing about these these three people and so many other like bill murray is kind of like it but you know a bit more of a potty mouth but yeah um the thing about mr rogers is that like i noticed when he’s speaking to people of all ages no matter how old the adult is he’s speaking to their inner child and he doesn’t see anyone as wounded

(1:20:00) and he’s just so present and he sees everyone through this special child-like love and lens and it’s so magical and that’s not something that can be forced or faked and so watching those documentaries or watching those films it has such an effect on me i’m so inspired to be more in the moment and to make moments out of every um situation that i can you know something memorable something where people so that’s the main thing that i think these men do is they make people feel seen because them and you do it too like people in front

(1:20:39) of you you are fully interested in them and like you you will never see tom shadyac pull a phone out of his pocket while you’re speaking to him you know and it’s the same i feel the same effect on paul and when you watch these films so i would encourage you to watch one of those films and to just be inspired to live a little bit more that way because when you see someone do it it feels more attainable and so that’s the effect that mr rogers had on me so it feels good i like that yeah mr rogers i did get raised by him i

(1:21:11) did watch him all the time yeah so he’s got some magic in it even for little kids that aren’t you know maybe necessarily consciously whatever that word means in this situation realizing what they’re soaking up and it’s so beautiful that he’s teaching them to handle their emotions totally right that a lot of people tell them they they shouldn’t be feeling yeah you know and he talks about war he talks about stuff that would be considered dark and he’s like yeah of course i do like of course

(1:21:39) that you know we we still share this stuff with children they need to know that they can be okay that adults don’t always know the answers and this is when we need to learn it when we’re kids yeah exactly so i wish that they still ran his program but there is dan daniel the tiger so daniel the tiger have got to look at that one yeah it’s his tiger from the show so if you’re a parent uh it’s really good it’s it teaches about emotions so oh cute i like that they have a spin-off all right cool all right sam

(1:22:12) yeah they’re one of their songs and i i have a um i have a cough so it’s something like if you’re feeling mad and you want a war take a deep breath and count to four oh my god stuff like that you know yeah yeah i don’t know if i talked about on this show before or not but there was uh some some show i was watching or maybe it was like 60 minutes or something they were doing a special on this school that and maybe it’s what montessori does maybe you can tell me jade because now your kids are in montessori

(1:22:49) they had the teachers did this deal where they anytime they were going to speak to the kids or discipline them you know talk to them about something that they were causing ruckus with they would get down on their knees so that their eye level with them and they would speak in a really like calm voice instead of you know degrading or demanding or you know loud voice of any type and they would speak to them you know like just they’re another adult and then they gave them tools like for instance this one boy had a big anger outburst

(1:23:19) and he’d be saying this yeah yeah i don’t know if it was on the show or not but it was yeah okay well he would commonly have these outbursts and and this show he had just had one on this other little kid he’d stolen something from in one of his toys they were both crying and they’re so angry and so the teacher you know had a little conversation with him and they asked like where where in your body is you are where are you feeling your anger and you know he pointed to his stomach and the other little boy

(1:23:46) that he would he had he was being angry at pointed to his heart and said i feel i feel hurt you know sad in my heart and so anyway it was like a nice way for the these two kids to kind of understand what’s going on in the other person’s body and how they’re causing these feelings to happen in another human and then he was more able to communicate with the other kid and say i didn’t mean to hurt your heart yeah and that’s something that he um that’s like stuff that mr rogers would do with these kids but something that i

(1:24:11) do is i’ll say we’ll walk um take three deep breaths count to ten and then i’ll say like i’m feeling and then they’re like to continue the sentence but sometimes i don’t want to and i try to make them and i notice mr rogers says like someone in the show didn’t want to talk and he go and he said you don’t want to talk right now and that’s okay oh and so that was really good and then he also um he has a song that says i love you i like you just the way you are and so i want to start singing that to

(1:24:38) them at bedtime because it is this thing of just letting them they don’t have to talk if they don’t want to if they’re like we we i feel like don’t let our kids be in bad moods yeah we’re in bad moods all the time you know so we like hold them to a standard that we don’t hold ourselves so he’s a big lesson for parents even you know it’s a kids show so because we need to self-parent ourselves still yeah i love it thank you jade for that and thank you for singing a song we always like when you do that
