#35 Pro MMA Fighter, Jessy Jess, on Sobriety, Domestic Abuse, Adaptability, & Perseverance

A true fighter, not only in the cage but in life- thru the ups & downs of her career, instead of giving up, our guest Jessy Jess, has evolved, made lifestyle changes, & pushed forward. She’s a role model in perseverance, sobriety, mental & physical strength, revitalization, & adaptability as she continues on with her seven-year professional MMA career. She shares her story of growing up in a Gypsy lifestyle with seventeen siblings traveling the globe, struggling to call any one place “home”. Her upbringing largely influenced the way she reacted within her adult relationships, often running away at the first sign of a problem, and allowing powerful men to chastise her. As she moved from one abusive relationship to the next, she fell deeper into her alcohol addiction, finally hitting her rock bottom as she faced her biggest competitor yet, herself. Now over one year sober, Jessy has found new clarity and motivation to persevere toward her goal of becoming a world champion mixed martial artist, but also in becoming the conscious human of service that she was always meant to be. In our books, she’s already won; We hope you enjoy this look into what makes her a SHEro in our eyes!
