(00:00) both of these [Music] my toddlers always mess with my little end table good okay on your toes um okay let’s see that should only take a second so okay um look i have a copy of the book yeah it’s the only copy in existence oh really i pre-ordered it did you yeah yeah my friend jedediah jenkins um his book is available i think in three weeks but he um it’s called to shake the sleeping self and it’s crazy because he rode his bike from oregon to patagonia so it took a full year and i was reading the view reviews i

(00:53) guess i don’t know if you’ve done this but i guess um amazon maybe sends out like a handful of books to people who like i guess put out reviews but it’s not it’s not associated with jed it’s associated with amazon and i felt so bad because i’m so excited especially because i know judd like what a wise soul he is and so many of the reviews were like i’m so upset that this was all about the inward journey and not the bike ride itself and so i know i was so bummed they sent it to the wrong

(01:21) group of people yeah obviously that’s a big mistake yeah yeah i guess the you know he can’t control who but i i know once like people get a hold of it hey so heather we’re getting for some reason we’re picking up all of the call on the recording oh because she doesn’t have headphones on i do have headphones oh you do oh could you just do me a favor and unplug them and put it back in again just okay that’s unplugged and then in um i just have to bring audacity up real quick um if you could check for me

(02:04) uh what input is what input you’re using in okay maybe it’s doing the wrong input built-in microphone okay okay so that that’s yeah i guess that’s that’s correct i don’t know actually that’s or should it be zoom audio device which i don’t even know what that is zoom audio device which i’m not a built-in microphone yeah so it should be but yeah it should be the built-in microphone but we seem to be getting um the recording from the girls as well and it should just be your voice

(02:39) okay let me try switching it let’s just run a really quick test okay okay i just switched the microphone so let’s test this and if you guys could talk a little bit yeah yeah good idea oh wait now nothing’s recording so that’s solves that problem uh one one question would be how um how loud do you have your earphones are they like really loud or are they just a regular volume down and see if that helps yeah i’m just wondering if it’s coming out of the speakers out of your earphones and into the actual

(03:23) so when i press record then i shouldn’t i shouldn’t see any audio wave of no you should see the green wave of you guys speaking i should just say yes adam does she see i mean is she supposed to see our waves no right just hers just okay i’m just seeing my wave now so that looks like it’s working let me just play it back really quick yep that’s working now is that okay maybe the headphones weren’t plugged in all the way or something yeah maybe the headphones weren’t plugged okay okay

(04:02) you want to send that over again and then see adam you check on yeah yeah let’s let’s double double check and then sorry no no exporting is wav test 2 and now you have permission so full access and quickly download just going to drop off for two for 10 seconds i’ll be back okay so when does your book release uh october 22nd 22nd oh cool perfect timing yeah so so i guess instead of us saying because this will come out um shortly after that i guess instead of us saying you can pre-order it

(05:05) we’ll just say it’s available yeah yeah i’ll change the creep so is it your voice on the audible books no it’s not oh okay yeah okay ladies we are good to go okay awesome don’t they all play thank you so much you’re welcome i’ve have fun i’m going to drop off the call chair but if you need me uh call me okay cool thank you okay thank you thank you bye bye okay mercedes you want to read her um introduction yes i’m just changing our little phrase here at the end for her book okay

(06:02) oh okay thank you so much for being on here with us today we’re so excited we’re yeah we’re uh oops let me say that after the intro yeah like make sure yeah make sure you’re okay i’m hitting record we’re good oh my god i’m not recording either see holy [Laughter] i’m good i’ve got our ecam recorded too perfect okay so if you want to read the intro and then um just so you know if like if we uh ramble too much or anything like that we can always cut it out so yeah and also any you know i’m you seem like a very open

(06:43) person from getting to know you through your books so i’m sure i don’t have to say this to you but i like to tell all our guests that if you really want to explore and share with us feel free if later you feel like that was something you didn’t want in there we are happy to edit that out so yeah rather you be open now and we can pull back later okay all right so without further ado let me introduce today’s guest a true warrior goddess herself a fire walker a woman who truly tunes in to intuition

(07:21) and uses her toltec wisdom in her teachings to support each individual in the manifestation of their highest potential a fearlessly loving outrageously open artist of the spirit and a consciously and compassionately aware truth-teller she apprenticed with and taught extensively with don miguel ruiz before founding the toltec center of creative intent in 2001 please welcome today’s guest heatherash amara yay [Laughter] i’m so happy to have you here yeah so happy to be here with both of you thanks for having me on the show i’m kind of

(08:01) gushing because um like a year ago i was sending your warrior goddess training book to all my girlfriends saying like you’ve got to read this and i like even just sending them clips from it and and now now i’m getting to talk to you so i’m super excited good i love that yeah um yeah your that book um in particular was truly such a source of healing for my spirit and it really unleashed some confidence in my feminine energy as well and i’m super excited for uh the seven secrets of healthy happy relationships

(08:35) book that you did with don mcgill um so can you share with us either some of the secrets or just a golden nugget from that book whatever you yeah absolutely it’s been really exciting to work with that book with don miguel jr and what we talk about is that the seven secrets aren’t really secret they’re things that all of us know but we often don’t bring up to the front forefront and so just a couple of the secrets the first one is the secret of commitment and that really in all our relationships

(09:06) we need to commit to ourselves first and often in relationships we’re committing to what we think the other person wants us to be or who we think we’re supposed to be and to make a really successful relationship we first have to commit to who we are to our journey to our path and to what we want in relationship so that we’re really clear i think about it that we know what our intent is going into the relationship and that helps us to know how to navigate because relationships are challenging yeah such a great path of growth yeah yeah

(09:42) how do you align with the other people that are in that same frequency as you right how to find the people that are your match in that way exactly and if you don’t know what you want and what have that clarity of what your intent is then how do you know if it’s a match yeah you don’t it’s really a line mercedes and i are big list people so um that’s true we we in one of our episodes we talk about writing down a list like putting pen to paper and writing down just everything that you want and a partner and

(10:16) you know not being not worrying about being too detailed just getting it out and then making sure that you’re you know matching that frequency so yeah that you’re doing the same things in your own life that would you know or if you do or don’t have a partner that would be what you would wish the partner you’re looking for would do otherwise why would that type of person walk into your life willingly exactly so is it similar sorry is it similar to his four agreements like is it just more of a relationships version or is it like

(10:45) completely new information it’s it’s mixed i mean it’s everything that i do is informed i would say by the four agreements because that’s such a foundational teaching and the same thing with with don miguel jr who is miguel’s son is that everything is informed by the four agreements and so we’re really taking what we’ve learned from miguel senior and our own life experiences and it’s one of the things i love about the book is that miguel and i are so different in some ways like miguel is he’s been

(11:19) married for 11 years he has two kids really solid relationship i’ve been divorced i’m like dating right now and so it’s this great match because we have this huge breadth of experience that we bring to the book that’s really cool i was going to say there is definitely an awakening that comes when one reads your work as well as a sense of grounding so what i want to know from you is what do you do in your life to continue having that type of an awakening that can come from like a really good book um or

(11:56) hearing someone’s story and and also how do you keep yourself grounded um such a good question because life is so ungrounding right yes all the things that we have to do i have a really strong practice in the mornings that i do of visualize the physical grounding practice of visualizing putting roots down into the ground and calling that energy up from the earth and imagining myself as a tree something i’ve been doing for literally probably 35 years i love that yeah it’s super simple but our imagination is incredibly

(12:33) powerful and as humans where a lot of us is electricity a lot of us is energy we’re not just this physical body and it’s really easy for our energy body to get out of balance i used to live in a house that wasn’t grounded the didn’t have a grounding for the electricity and like things would blow up the light bulbs would blow up the soap blew up one day and that’s how if you’re not grounded in your life it’s really easy to get pulled off center dangerous yeah yeah i am i visualize a grounding cord every

(13:11) morning and um i visualize a grounding cord on my apartment and my car and um even my tv like all of those things but i still struggle so much with grounding and i was recently told that it’s my third chakra that resists it which was such an interesting um thing to find out about myself i’m still trying to figure that out i know that’s our solar plexus but um you would think that it’s just such a um an interesting thing to when you’re like striving for grounding and you’re doing all that

(13:40) visionary work to like hear um from an intuitive person that you’re resisting it so i’m figuring that out you know i think sometimes we resist being in the present a lot of the reasons for most of us that we live in the past or we live in the future that we’re not grounded in the present is that we have emotional content that we don’t know what to do with so emotional content from our past and so there’s a tendency to exit to use addictions or to distract ourselves or like my favorite is to clean the house

(14:17) and we can use anything to get ourselves out of the present or get ourselves out of the emotion and sometimes our safety mechanisms are like okay you’re not ready to handle this let’s exit and and then there’s also i think other reasons as well of that the weight of the past sometimes that we carry that just drags us backwards and learning how to gracefully and lovingly pull our resistance forward like not try to force but to invite ourselves hmm yeah i remember reading in your book about that and i definitely

(14:59) uh related mostly to the distraction this this distracting to take myself out of the present so i definitely have been working on that ever since i read that i’m a busy body myself i’ll do the same thing i’ll be just stuck in work you know work work work work work and not really spending any time focusing on what really needs to be worked on yeah so easy to do that yeah so so easy another thing that i really related to um in the warrior goddess training was the toltec archetypes um the maiden the mother and the crone

(15:33) because we with our careers i feel like i fully embrace the maiden and then now having toddlers i feel like i’m just completely wrapped up in the mother but i don’t feel like i’ve i don’t i don’t feel like i’ve focused on fully embracing the crohn um can you give our listeners a brief explanation of those archetypes and then maybe a tip for how to embrace the crone yeah absolutely the maiden energy is that young enthusiastic exploratory yummy energy and that is really revered in our culture that youth

(16:12) and that’s why it can be hard to embody the crone because that’s actually pretty vilified in our culture so everybody has made an energy and it’s mostly associated with with youth but we want to all have that energy and pull it through our entire lives no matter how old we are because it’s the enthusiasm yeah and the mother energy is not just about biological children but obviously it can be but it’s also about that when we mature and we start looking at what do i want to create what legacy do i want to leave

(16:43) what do i want to birth and nurture so the mother archetype that energy is around service nourishing growing something whether that’s a child or whether that’s a business or your spiritual path and again no matter what age you are it’s really helpful to pull that mother energy in and i think especially for women we want to learn how to mother ourselves better most of us are not in a good relationship with the mother archetype in relationship to ourselves because we’re often punishing ourselves comparing ourselves judging ourselves

(17:20) and calling that mothering and it’s not and then the third archetype the crone is deep wisdom it’s having lived a full life and having learned all the lessons of life and made the mistakes and dropping into stillness not trying to fix staying steady in yourself and really merged in your connection to life and staying silent until the information needs to come through is how i think about it that deep deep wisdom and to embody the crown energy can be really challenging because again often as women the the modeling that we get or what

(18:07) we’re told or what we see especially in media is that we don’t want to be older like older women are not often supported very much and so what i how i explore this in myself is i’m constantly looking at the faces and the bodies and the experience of older women and i’m i constantly look in the mirror and i’m like look i’ve got another wrinkle how awesome oh yeah great hair cool because it to rewire that that that’s beauty that there’s beauty in the elderhood and that the more that we

(18:43) revere our elders and know that we’re all stepping into becoming elders over time and how can we be good elders how can we be good ancestors yeah that we’re stepping closer to that veil do you think that it’s possible at um maybe like in young 30s or in 20s for a woman to still and like really um embody that crohn energy or do you feel like it just comes with age i think it is possible there is a part that comes with age for sure and i’ve also met 20 30 years old that have a great connection with their own

(19:19) stillness with their own intuition that are incredibly patient and that that those are all aspects of the crone that’s i also kind of feel like our goal in this podcast um or a large part of the goal in this podcast is we’re seeking you know our we call it liquid truths we’re seeking this wisdom so in a sense we’re kind of opening up that side of us where we’re open to finding our answers and maybe that’s crohn like i’m not sure you know i’m not sure if i i’m seeing that that embodies

(19:53) that fully or not but when you were talking about it it feels like you get to a point and maybe it comes with age a lot of times but for someone who’s younger when you call them an old soul or something like that it might relate to that idea of the crone being this person who’s ready to be calm and wise and just accept what comes her way essentially yeah absolutely and that is looking within mm-hmm like i said yeah how much do you think hormones comes to play and all that like really good question definitely i’m

(20:27) struggling with um peri menopause i’m uh like balancing myself out with that and so hormones are like really on my mind when it comes to stuff like this so yeah there’s some really neat research around hormones like there’s definitely that phase when you’re shifting from mother to crohn and that in between hormonal wackiness and what they found is that for women the the hormones like get wacky for a while and then it levels out there’s a particular hormone i can’t remember which one it is that levels out

(20:59) at a really high chill pill whatever it is progesterone maybe yeah i think it’s progesterone exactly yeah and then mercedes knows to creativity wow which i think is fascinating so then you have this like freeing almost that happens exactly you’re freed up to then be creative and there’s a grace for one of my favorite stories about grandmothers and elders is there is a woman who’s a cross-cultural anthropologist who studied who wanted to find out why our grandmother’s important in a tribal society and she did a huge

(21:31) study she had a hypothesis that they were important because they helped their grandchildren like they gave extra nutrition to their grandchildren and she was wrong it was incorrect hypotheses and so she went back and and thought about it came up with another hypothesis found another tribe did this huge study and her second one was correct what she found is that grandmothers they didn’t just look after their offspring they looked at the whole community as a whole and if any child needed like whatever child whether it was her blood or not

(22:01) needed help that’s who she fed that’s who she supported and so that’s that big picture wisdom that i think we all need to cultivate regardless of what age we are yeah yeah i really liked what you uh said about the mother being more than just those around us yeah a physical mother to children in that um because i don’t i don’t have children yet i don’t know if i will uh it’s possible and all those things but i definitely don’t feel like um i’ve stepped into the point in my life where i want to do that

(22:38) but i do see i mean i give birth to new companies ideas and everything you know all the time like several times podcast is our baby right now yeah exactly yeah exactly um that’s always been a part of me i think in that way i may have been able to embrace that part that mother um part of me but yeah i just i thought it was interesting the way that you put words to that i like i like that a lot can you tell us um your favorite like story of awakening in you like one of your favorite most um out of your memories of you know

(23:16) um just evolving and and being awoken to this warrior goddess within you something that stands out to you um i have two stories and one was when i was really young and one was an experience with don miguel and the young one was i was about seven and i was traveling with my family to india and i remember really clearly being worried that my shoes were going to get dirty like that was the biggest thing that was on my mind because i had white sandals and we’re walking down this really dirty street and this little girl’s coming

(23:45) towards me and we were about the same age she was about seven but she was dressed in rag she was barefoot really ratty hair and we locked eyes and in that moment everything else went away like the whole world disappeared and my heart blasted open and i fell completely in love with this little girl and she fell completely in love with me and i just realized there’s no separation like there’s no separation between humans we’re all one and then she was gone like we crossed paths and that was it but we were only seven totally different

(24:18) but i was seven and then i forgot about that pretty quickly afterwards um and it wasn’t until about 10 years ago that i pulled that memory back and was like wow no wonder i’ve been on a spiritual path yeah i’ve got a taste of what’s possible wow so that was a beautiful moment and the other one with don miguel we were in peru and this was such a hard situation for me he might my friend jenny saw my potential but she also saw the places where i was in ego where i had this image of myself as a teacher and so she put me in

(24:56) silence and she and she said to miguel i’m putting heather ash in silence and i want you to work with her and so i’m in silence and was struggling with that of like for five days i was in silence while everybody else is talking and and and i just didn’t understand what was going on and then at one point jenny says okay tomorrow i want you to do a ritual and i want you to lead the ritual and i exploded i like this i was like what do you mean you put me in silence now you want me to do ritual and you’re just jerking me i

(25:29) mean i just lost it and i went climbing up we were up at machu picchu and i went climbing up wainup which is a huge peak and it’s raining and i’m stomping up like hating everyone and nobody understands me and i’m stomping up the hill and i realized i couldn’t hold my anger and my outrage and my sense of injustice and and hike i couldn’t do both there was no way i was going to fall off the mountain and i had to let it go and i just something in me just i just surrendered i was like i don’t know

(26:03) what’s going on but it doesn’t matter i’m fine everything’s fine and when i came back down later i found the group and i literally hiked down the mountain and ran into the group immediately and they were in some tucked a little place but i knew exactly where they were and miguel just opens his arms to me and like pulled me in and that was a moment of like huge resistance and just the willingness to stay with myself through the resistance to get to the surrender and the faith and the trust that there was something larger

(26:37) at work that was helping me to get back to my authenticity that’s really adorable moment i love that yeah i um i always say everything i let go of has claw marks on it because i i have a hard time letting go of what doesn’t serve me sometimes i think it’s going to be graceful and we’re going to just it’s going to be so easy to open into love and into acceptance and we’re like i was going to ask that uh to your point of you know you had to go sit in silence and be at this this uh retreat was it i guess you’re calling it

(27:14) a retreat um for five days or whatever it was and you’re an author so you obviously use words as a way of communication and maybe even as a love language i don’t know but do you think that the silence is what like not feeling love from others not feeling be able to express your love is that what brought up all the anger in you or definitely a piece of it not feeling included and also feeling for me it was this outrage of being basically being told what to do um yeah not being the teacher that you not being a teacher exactly yeah it was such

(27:59) a good lesson have you since then done any silent retreats where you were successful i actually went into silence for 40 days oh wow wow i did um 30 in brazil um in garipala village but every friday night we were able to talk during the documentary but still even on the third week sometimes i’d walk into breakfast and i’d be like morning and no one would say anything to me like god what is up with everybody and they’re like oh shoot so it was it’s definitely hard for me um how was 40 days it was amazing and it was hellacious

(28:36) just plugging my computer in oh yeah um the first three weeks were incredibly difficult because i was still engaged in the world so i had a white board and i would write things down and what happened for me is probably the i mean i went into the silence so uh what’s the right word innocent okay i just thought this is going to be wonderful i’m going to hear the voice of god i’m going to have such an amazing time that’s how i felt at first oh gosh so i’m driving to work one day and i hear this voice and the voice is

(29:16) saying oh my god you’re late for work and you’re doing the silence and he’s going to be so mad at you and you’re probably going to get fired and if you get fired you’re going to lose your house and then you’re going to be homeless and you’re going to be sleeping on your house and love you and you i mean this just this voice and then the pictures came up and i had this vision of going up the cliff and dying and the car blowing up and yeah my mind was like no and it rewound it and it threw me off the cliff again but this

(29:38) time i fell off partway and bleeded slowly to death on the side of the cliff and what scared me i mean what really got my attention was i recognized that voice was always there i had just never seen it before i started calling it disaster mind and i think most of us have pretty well developed disaster judgment minds where we’re looking at the past at what went wrong and judging ourselves we’re afraid of recreating it or looking at the future and being anxious about what could happen yeah and so that was my

(30:09) work then was like to to bring my mind into the present over and over and over again and it took me like another two weeks probably i was in silence for about 45 days and so were you so you’re i guess what i want to ask is do you find that you’re you write better in a situation like that or do does a lot of what you write about come from those moments it’s mixed it’s a great question i need a lot of silence in my life now and that wasn’t true before i i did that particular silence and just my being on

(30:49) my spiritual path so i love the combo like i’m a i’m a libra so i’m like i want to be in the middle of woods and nobody knows where i am or i want to be in new york city in the middle of everything so both work yeah and i need i need a lot of stimulation sometimes and sometimes i need absolute stillness and what do you think why is it now that you want more silence than before is it i mean i know i need silence sometimes because i just need less stimulation i don’t know i mean is that the same for

(31:21) you is that what you’re seeking out or does it just feel better so you want to stay in that space longer both i’d say there’s definitely good yeah less stimulation and it gives me the opportunity to integrate and also it allows me to open up and let get out of my own way yeah with my writing it’s absolutely get out let spirit come through let the words come through yeah be open i feel like it’s also when you can like tune into your intuition more and like really feel what your gut is telling you

(31:54) um and i know you talk a lot about that in your book but for our listeners can you kind of um talk about the how to differentiate intuition from just the fear in your own head and the all the other voices we may battle with yes what i found is learning to listen to our intuition takes a willingness to be wrong and to look back and that intuition has a particular feeling a particular flavor in the body and that every person has to figure out what that is and when we’re coming from fear what i’ve noticed is often when we’re coming from

(32:37) fear there’s anxiety and judgment or we’re get the word well i can’t find the word but there’s a way that we’re well well i feel this way because oh i see the tip that it’s not intuition actually whereas for me when i’m really in my intuition there’s this softness and there’s this openness and it’s quiet and i just know um almost a joy yeah yeah and it takes the willingness to look back and to be honest because they often look very very very similar and it’s hard to tell in the moment yeah you

(33:26) said something uh in one of your books would you rather be right or would you rather be happy and that reminds me of that just the i’d rather be happy but saying is i’m wrong but i’m happy right exactly exactly oops that’s my intuition let’s try again but it’s true in the moment when you’re you know battling with someone or you’re having a debate or whatever the thing is that you’re struggling over you being right feels like the immediate happiness factor but in the long term it’s gonna

(34:03) probably cause you more strife yeah and well most of my battles are with myself because i tend to take myself too seriously sometimes and so your book really helped me to just say oops like oops you know it sounds so simple but if you could just kind of learn to laugh at yourself it’s such a big help and i think even in bigger ways too like we talk about you know being able to come up against something that you have maybe believed for the better part of your life and seeing the cognitive dissonance recognizing that thing and

(34:35) and dealing with the pain of it you know i say seek the pain for positive gain but and then moving forward through it you know and going through it that’s the thing you have to take on the uncomfortable pain to get to the other side to you know the greener grass or whatever it is yeah absolutely and we always my community we talk about discomfort is the new black yeah yeah you’re used to discomfort because if you want to expand and break the belief systems and get free so it’s so easy you got to go through the discomfort

(35:07) there’s no other way it’s so easy when you’re comfortable too to not want to shake it but speaking of that too being such you said you you know were um you’ve been divorced and now you’re dating um being such an awakened woman is it is it almost hard to date like or has it come easier or has it come harder now i think it’s the mixture yeah and now i’ve been really blessed because for whatever reason in my life right now like a lot of people that have been dear friends or lovers in the past are showing back up again and

(35:45) i’m like wow i get to redo this relationship yeah that’s cool yeah which has been really fun so i think mostly for me with dating it’s about just trusting the process of it and just really reminding myself just enjoy learning about myself and meeting other people and everyone’s a teacher yeah everyone’s a teacher and just stay clear with what i want and knowing it’ll come in right timing that there’s no rush do you ever go back and read your past books to remind yourself of some of the things you you wanted to remind

(36:22) yourself of that time i do yeah yes it’s something it’s great having written a book and like yeah i already wrote my guide yeah that must be really cool i even when i read my blog from you know when i was in my early 20s i’m always like she was so much cooler than i am now i want to be her friend so um it’s a it’s a good reminder to like you know awaken that part of you again so yeah absolutely so there are a few questions we like to ask everyone who comes on the show first off what advice would you give

(36:58) your 25 year old self i would tell her to not worry about whether people like her or not and to really take the time to get to know herself and spend time alone and listen to what she loves and have more fun i was really serious as a 25 year old yeah i love that what’s the process to get there you know like if i’m a 25 year old listening now what’s her process to to do that to employ that or her mantra yeah yeah to be willing to go towards pleasure and to go towards what she loves to be willing to explore i’d say that’s

(37:58) when we’re i know when i was that age i just had this feeling that i had to be really serious and figure everything out and so for serious 25 year olds things get figured out yeah eventually and it’s not the mind that’s going to figure it out like your body wisdom is so amazing and also giving yourself permission to have pleasure to play to dance to explore to make really beautiful mistakes i think that’s hard to do in well maybe less hard to do now than ever but still tough because of the way our culture

(38:43) still holds women who are quote-unquote promiscuous uh in a certain light a negative light or the way that even you know certain relationships doesn’t know what they want to do even with their lives yeah well our culture also just has this idea that touching your body is taboo like exposing your body is taboo nudity so many things that you’re just like what am i allowed to do and you’re just scared into a corner at some point anything is too much of something yeah yeah yeah so true in your book you describe

(39:18) giving space to yourself to really explore your own body and i mean even physically so that you know what you like so that you can be able to communicate that when you need to and so that you have to essentially or what i got from it so that you can allow yourself you know give your self that type of permission to um be touched that way and to enjoy moreover more than anything else i guess enjoy and have that pleasure that you’re talking about that’s important i don’t even know that i’ve done that yet

(39:54) what do you think um i have [Laughter] what do you think keeps women from from feeling comfortable with that do you think it is our culture or i do i think that there’s so many confusing messages around you’re supposed to be a virgin but you’re supposed to be a [ __ ] and you’re supposed to be sexual but you’re not supposed to be sexual and there’s just so it’s there’s so many and then yeah you’re not supposed to be promiscuous if you’re preclusive means a particular thing and so there’s all

(40:24) these rules that contradict it gets really confusing and i know for myself like i was on a spiritual path for a really long time and i just decided sexuality is like not spiritual so that’s separate yes a lot of people think that yeah and it was the last thing that i healed pretty one one of the last big things that i healed and one day i got a really clear message of like okay honey you need to go clear your sexuality and i was like no don’t make me lying and i had to be really courageous to go towards the pain

(41:02) that i was holding around sexuality and the fear because for me what happened is that i don’t think i had physical trauma myself sexually but i had all the signs of having been sexually molested and i think it was just because of the situations that i was in and or even a past life possibly exactly yeah who knows but yeah i was one of like check check check and what would what happened to me is if i when i was really young especially and i would have an orgasm i would immediately start weeping hysterically really wow

(41:39) yeah it was really intense and about i remember really clear like three or four times this happening i was like i don’t know what’s happening and i just shut it down which you can imagine what that did to my sex life yeah shut everything down and so the willingness then to open up the pain that was there and for me it was a pain of moving i moved a lot as a kid me too so there was a lot of grief a lot of letting go of people that i loved in places that i loved over and over again and since i never let that out

(42:10) there was this one little narrow place that i let my guard down and boom it came out and so as i started to heal that and and honor the grief and make space for it then i was able to then start attending more to the pleasure part of my relationship with my body and i think we’re just scared that if we if we allow ourselves pleasure that we’re that we’re being selfish mm-hmm i think that’s the yeah that’s another part yeah and yeah and what you use i guess to get there in your mind um i know for me was a big thing like using

(42:46) my own creativity always felt right but using things um outside sources always felt um dark so i think for me too it was learning what felt good and what didn’t feel right for my spirit um even in sexuality so yeah absolutely um so the next question that we i like to ask our guests is um if you could have the whole world read one book and i’m super excited for your answer since you’re one of my favorite books uh the writer of one of my favorite books um which would it be i would have to say the four agreements

(43:20) oh really okay because it’s just such foundational it sounds so easy and foundational but it’s still the one that gets me is not taking things personally it’s still so hard for me um especially in relationships so yeah it’s such a challenging one yeah when i have it on my fridge the four agreements all four of them and it’s a you know i have it as a daily reminder and it’s like oops yeah and what i remind people about about something like anything that’s a new code of conduct that we’re taking on is

(43:57) that what we’re doing is setting intent and saying okay i never want to take anything personally again but the truth is the moment you set intent i want to love more whatever it is what happens is the universe is like yay like here’s all the support and guidance and here’s the challenge and it also says and here’s all the obstacles yeah yeah so you’re gonna start seeing all the places you take things personally you gotta earn it right and so instead of beating yourself up like i shouldn’t be taking i

(44:24) shouldn’t i should be not taking this personally to just go and here’s where i need to work here’s my cleaning yeah it’s funny because i ask for patience all the time and i have two toddlers that throw a lot of fits and i feel like the universe is always like you asked for patience so much yeah it is yeah i felt that recently i was i was laughing i’m like i’m getting a phd and letting go yeah some of the situations in my life i’m like really really but i asked to love so here you go love

(44:55) you love this honey yeah i love that such a good yeah it’s such a amazing practice though i mean that’s that’s life you know just that up and down and being able to navigate through all those the good and bad and the light in the dark so it’s more fun when you’re aware of it rather than imagine if you weren’t aware and all of this stuff was happening and you didn’t even see a purpose yeah that’s what i mean like knowing that the knowing of the the the base knowledge of knowing okay i’m gonna have to go through this

(45:27) to get to the other side makes it first of all even at all accompli or takes the overwhelm away you know it makes it doable makes it something you feel like you can actually accomplish then and then you know that there’s something worthwhile on the other end right yeah yeah and i always remind myself if when things start happening in my life that are challenging i’ll i’ll ask oh hi sweetie okay what was your intent yeah because i know i put this into motion to learn so that helps bring the power back

(45:58) that’s nice taking responsibility for creating your own reality yes yeah i think we fall into uh like you talk about the the i call it the pity party but you know we pity ourselves or we feel bad for our play the victim and then we get lost basically we get lost in that we can but we can turn to your books for guidance so our other question is if you could whisper one phrase to everyone on the planet what would it be sweetheart you are enough exactly the way you are i don’t like that you do i wonder how many people would

(46:41) believe it whisper it yeah exactly how many people would have to say it a lot of times before people believe it do you you feel have you do you feel like now in your life you always feel enough you’ve reached that most of the time yeah i’d say probably 90 of the time what i’ve noticed if i’m stretching if i’m doing something big in my life like i’m writing a book that for me is feels like the book i’m here to write and what i’ve been noticing is i feel really insecure right now

(47:14) and it’s because i’m not writing it once i start writing it i’ll be fine but i’m in that place of like what if i can’t do it so they say that’s when you know you’re a real writer is when you have those feelings i think i think we know she’s a real writer in the game through it’s like you’re fine so you keep going i love that um is there anything that you’re still longing for in your life um gosh my life is so good yeah yeah it’s an awesome thing to feel like my life is so good

(47:50) yeah i can’t think of anything right now i love that yeah yeah i’m looking forward to saying that rachel you told us a little bit older you’re not chasing them around the house yeah so one last question for you where can people find you on social media and where can they pick up a copy of your new book the seven secrets to happy healthy relationships my website is heatherashamara.

(48:22) com and facebook is heatherash.amara instagram heatherash and the book is available it’ll be it’s available at independent bookstores and on any online distributor um i’m excited to get to my door awesome thank you is heather rash your birth amazing i’m sorry no good good is heather ash your birth name my birth name’s heather and then when i started fire walking about 30 years ago i i people started calling me ash that was my nickname and so i decided about 15 years ago to bring them together so i’m glad you

(49:02) asked that i was wondering it’s interesting my little sister’s name is tara star spelled t-e-r-r-a but no i mean either people call her tara people call her star but her whole name is tara starr and it’s it’s two words it’s two separate ones yeah so it’s very very challenging yeah yeah i wanna i’m starting that i’m like just call me ash yeah like all my friends call me ash just call me ass yeah ash is a cool name it sounds like short for ashley though i know when you say the fire walking it’s like oh yeah i

(49:32) want to come up with a new name for myself soon yeah we’ll figure it out well thank you so much i’m so stoked that we got to do this me too it’s so great to meet both of you and just blessings on your show and all that you’re doing in your world and all the people that you’re touching with it it’s really exciting thank you so much and good luck with your new book you won’t need it it’s going to be amazing i am super excited for that one good me too and jade i’m going to be in in

(49:58) austin doing a fire walk in a weekend uh december 7th through the 9th so if you can get away from the kids and you want to come even to see the firewalk yeah and she doesn’t know where you’re having it it’s at i can’t remember which hotels one of the hotels in uh kind of central austin i think it’s not north but yeah get send me your email address and they’ll send it to you and i’ll be in los angeles at some point mercedes yeah yeah right so i have a bunch of friends that would be totally into that that’s

(50:27) really cool yeah i’ll um so i’ll uh send it to serena i have her email address so i’ll send it to her and then yeah yeah and she can send you the info and yeah thank you so much and i just so appreciate you thank you thanks for saying that thank you um such a compliment coming from you we’re very honored so i guess when you hit stop um if you’re doing a wii transfer you just can’t close your computer until it says 100 percent we always forget to tell people that so yeah we just save it while we’re

(51:04) talking yes save project as wave file or you have it should be a file export wave oh that’s right okay yeah do you live in sedona i don’t i am between woodstock new york and santa fe right now i just bought an airstream so i’m on the road oh cool oh wow that’s cool i love santa fe it’s so beautiful there we go yeah yeah yeah i just bought land i just bought 180 acres of land out there there’s something interesting about arizona and new mexico there’s something interesting about the energy when you’re

(51:47) there that i can’t pinpoint it just feels like holy land or something i don’t know so beautiful i don’t know if it’s because it’s like less developed than a lot of states i mean hopefully it stays that way you know but so some of the places people say they see the most ufos and whatnot right so they’ve got they’ve got some stuff going on for sure it’s got some stuff going on yeah yeah i’m really excited it’s been such a dream of mine for so many years to to have land and to i want to create

(52:14) hermitages and the retreat center that people come stay oh we’ll have to go do that yeah um i was gonna ask you that your your with your book release do you have just like the craziest schedule you have to just hop from place to place or what’s the setup actually don’t with this i mean usually i do a bunch of stuff with a new book and miguel and i are going to do some stuff online and i’m writing like i’m in writing mode i’ve got it’s awesome i’m on break for a month now and then i

(52:40) think i have one event before the end of the year and that’s it oh that’s not too bad yeah my best friend is a writer and we went to telluride because i was trying to write a book i got to chapter well how whatever chapter it was that i was age 14 because i was starting at the beginning of my life and i just fell into a deep depression from revisiting it all yeah um i think i took myself too deep into it in order to really tell the story in ways that i don’t usually i usually tell it like it’s someone else’s well this time i

(53:10) really wanted the emotion of the book yeah and i fell into such a deep depression and i still have you know all of that writing i just haven’t picked it back up because my life has completely changed you know my freedom of time and stuff but um yeah i know tom when when we would go write together though he he would get in his writing space and it was just it was just so unique to watch you know that magic happen so yeah i’m excited to go in i’ve been i i wrote the first rough draft and i taught for three weeks and

(53:39) i’m about to go back in so this is like the last thing actually you guys are the last thing and then i’m diving oh girl i’m so glad i emailed when i did this yeah no your timing was impeccable actually perfect thank you universe so yeah yeah fantastic yeah thank you so much so this is the only the only other instruction is just um whenever you pull through we transfer just keep your laptop open until it goes through because otherwise it’ll shut it down yeah okay good thank you all right plugged in all right sweet ones take

(54:13) good care thanks thank you so much on everything you do thank you bye okay we made it you breathe i know i’ve been taking a breath in 45 minutes she stayed on a little longer no yeah i was trying to like seek out questions i was like okay she’s going fast on these we need to add some i know that first that first one i thought she was going to take a long time and she was like she was done in like a minute i was like i was like i wrote some scribbles down what do these mean what if i lost more yeah tell us more what if we just

(54:51) started doing that tell us more we just well they say silence is your biggest tool in in in conversation like if you just because then people are thinking about what was just said no if you just stop if you just don’t talk and you let the silence that end they feel they have to talk more so than they will oh yeah it’s hard though when there’s three of us but with two people you can basically just not say anything and let the dead space trigger them to talk more it sounds weird later we can cut that out but

(55:26) yeah well what’d you think um i feel like i’m going to like it when i listen back to it i hope people find it interesting well i don’t think that many men will but i think it’ll be great for our female listeners um because we haven’t we haven’t done an episode just for them yet and i feel like it’s important to build that part of the tribe because we don’t have that you know so like that’s good but also like when i hung up with justice call i was like god that that wasn’t good

(56:02) and then when i listened back to it i was like oh this is this is actually entertaining and and interesting for some people you know so i don’t know we’ll see it’s hard to know like it’s just hard to i know it really is the vibe of it also it’s a weird thing too it’s like you know when you have an organic conversation with someone like you’ve just met them and so you’re having this conversation um i think also we’re used to people being interested in us because we’re female and we’re pretty or whatever

(56:29) so that’s usually what consists of a interesting conversation is when you can give all you have to stranger and they can be like wow that’s interesting you’re very interesting remember um so i think that’s part of it it’s hard to know from this side and then also uh because we’ve studied these people and we like know already everything they’re gonna say it’s not fresh and new but to a listener it might be like oh [ __ ] that i didn’t even [ __ ] think of that [ __ ] you know

(57:02) what else it is that i was thinking about during it is our questions are kind of they’re all to do with their mindset and what they write about but they’re still all over the place we don’t like we don’t have an actual theme so like with paul we’re probably gonna have it’s kind of a theme but with her it wasn’t it wasn’t so much a theme and like if we were to we’d have to be really experienced i think when we’re able to do this but if we were to just have a theme and like

(57:28) kind of how that john wyland on almost 30 they just kind of asked them a question then like went in conversation there instead of asking on different avenues i think that’s i don’t know that then do you get stuck in one zone that’s not fun like it’s like okay let’s move on to the next subject because this way we kind of get pieces of her because you’re trying to get as much as we can of what you would experience in her books in that because we know what she honestly i won’t know until i listen

(57:54) back to it yeah and even then it’s still not new information to us like if someone else has to hear it and go wow i [ __ ] learned so much and gained so much i’m passing this on to my friends and family you know i think people are gonna feel good when they hear it even if they weren’t like wow i learned so much i think they’re gonna feel good because it’s truth you know yeah hope i hope they just found some like when she was talking about the mother maiden crone i learned something new and that made me

(58:24) excited so then i asked you a question off of that specific i know i wish that i wish that she would have gone even longer on that but the thing is you can only do so much like she’s probably practiced this a lot of places so i think she’s experiencing it you can only give so much to someone who because you got to think okay who are the people i’m speaking to not me and you but to our audience our audience may be someone who’s never read her books or know anything about her so you can just give

(58:49) them enough to make them understand like you don’t want to go too deep into something because it takes a whole book to explain it that’s why she wrote those but if you can give like the basics that make you go hmm that is a good point and that’s interesting enough i’m going to go buy the book that’s her job essentially yeah i wonder when she stopped her recording because i liked her saying like y’all are such a light y’all wear my my last thing before i actually got that right for her and then she said it again later

(59:15) so i think we got both we got it yeah she stopped it though but before that second time but that’s sweet of her yeah super sweet um well you want to do the intro and then our magic tricks yes you still have all your recording going on right yeah i never stopped it did you stop yours no i didn’t do it okay all right so then i might give her intro one more time too just in case yeah yeah it’s the first thing i said so if you know all right energy for the intro energy for the intro what i did love about our

(59:57) sexual attraction episode is we had like i was singing in the beginning i had high energy and i was that was our second time being jivy what do you mean that was our second time doing it oh you didn’t like that one no i loved it oh but that was our that was what we we did that after we finished the whole episode we went back into the intro again and that’s why we were like because we’d already said it before yeah it’s just that’s why i’m saying fresh rehearsals are helpful okay what’s up you guys how are all our boys

(1:00:30) and babes doing out there wanna welcome y’all to the magic hour you already know i’m mercedes terrell and with me as always my majestic partner and shine jade bryce what’s up jade hi hi hi mercedes hi magic mop i’m so excited for this episode because we’re going to have on the writer of one of my favorite books warrior goddess training who also just co-wrote a book with don miguel ruiz who we of course all know and love um but you have your name you have to say it right do you have to say don miguel ruiz

(1:01:07) don miguel maurice perfect um her name is heather ashamara and i have already learned so much from her so i’m extremely honored to be able to talk with her and i know our listeners are really going to benefit from this episode yes i know i am shoot i cannot wait um just so you guys know heather ash amara’s book is the number one best-selling book for women come on y’all very empowering stuff okay um and after our interview with her we will be leaving you guys with a magic trick to use this week absolutely yeah

(1:01:53) um jade i was going to ask you though what was your biggest takeaway from heather ash’s the one you mentioned you know it’s hard to say the biggest because there were just so many um i listened to this book off and on for a year it just um it i felt so drawn to it and i would say that it was to work with your shadows instead of against them and having compassion with my mistakes while always being aware of my inner dialogue also to choose love over fear and always send out that love and then uh judgment verse

(1:02:29) discernment intuition verse fear or desires um speaking your truth was a big one that was that really really um i feel like that was a big takeaway for me speaking your truth i feel like that changed the way that some of my relationships are um yeah like i said it’s hard to choose one but um i will say that you know i start every uh podcast um i always do like a 15 20 minute meditation prior to it and just get in the right space and i just really felt like the message that um even when i first ordered that book and

(1:03:05) first picked it up that this podcast interview was already like it was already on the books it was already scheduled you know like it was just meant to be that was like the message that i got in my meditation and it was just so um it was just overwhelmed with gratitude so it was a really cool feeling like thinking back to a year how picking up that book and how i had no clue that here we’d be i know like thinking back on just life even a few weeks ago before we booked this interview like how we both were like um

(1:03:43) well we’re just going to ask a few people that we would like to have on the show just to see what would happen and lo and behold here we are y’all getting to pass on this true wisdom open your ears people open your ears he’s such a light so yes so without further ado let me introduce today’s guest a true warrior goddess herself a fire walker a woman who truly tunes in to intuition and uses her toltec wisdom in her teachings to support each individual in the manifestation of their highest potential a fearlessly loving

(1:04:29) outrageously open artist of the spirit a consciously and compassionately aware truth-teller she apprenticed with and taught extensively with don miguel ruiz before founding the toltec center of creative intent in 2001 ladies and gentlemen please welcome today’s guest heatherash amara [Music] yay now let’s jump to the end jump to the end jump it okay okay go ahead wow that was so amazing i’m so honored that we had her on the show i i’m looking forward to feedback from everybody because i know um that was a

(1:05:19) lot of info and we were kind of you know had a lot of different topics discussed but i know that when i hear her message i just feel good inside because it’s the truth you know so i’m excited to hear everyone’s feedback yeah that [ __ ] was legit y’all did you pick up some wisdom are you getting into your chrome zone um no that was that was freaking awesome and uh after like reading her books and picking her brain i feel i have some new powers um approaching the precipice is that the word precipice

(1:06:01) no clue i never heard it approaching the edge of diving into so wash out world about to become a warrior goddess for real okay so can’t wait to pick up that book when she say it releases uh october 22nd uh no it came out october 24th so it’s out so um no it’s september right now i’m confused mercedes oh wait [Music] okay um okay start over from where you can’t wait to pick up the book i cannot wait to pick up that book wouldn’t you say it comes out again uh it came out october 24th and i

(1:06:44) actually already ordered it so yeah i’m excited excited for it to get here wait do it one more time where i’m not asking when sorry adam we’re the worst um or maybe i should do that whole piece again i don’t know uh yeah that [ __ ] was legit y’all hope you guys picked up some little nuggets of knowledge because i know i did and i gotta say especially after reading three of her books and now picking her brain on the podcast i’m ready to step in to my warrior goddess i am on the verge of picking up

(1:07:21) some some superhero tendencies so watch out world okay and i cannot wait to pick up her book yeah um it came out october 24th i actually already ordered it i’m just waiting for it to get here nice oh that’s me sorry i don’t have it highlighted um nice good thinking so we have oh yes we do we have a question from the magic mob that seems extremely fitting for this episode so thank you kenya t from instagram who asks if you could have anyone on your podcast who would it be take it away jade oh so i have this

(1:08:17) manifestation list you know i love list yeah this list right here of the people that i would like with a little some affirmations here thing is going to happen it’s going to happen um yeah and as you i don’t know if you’re watching the video but heather ashamara is actually on that list so i am so excited to put a check mark next to that um other than that i have john weinland uh cheryl straight rebecca campbell glennon doyle um anybody from the cast of this is us um yeah i tried to keep it realistic

(1:08:51) because i could say things like ellen degeneres and bill murray but i don’t think they really do podcasts so you never know you never know oh yeah this is what i’m sticking to for now all right we can make it happen for me let’s say oh and that i also like um the sex with emily girl i like her a lot if you haven’t heard from her about her she’s really cool and check it out um it’s a tough question for me but and well of course my list keeps growing and growing literally every day i’m like ooh

(1:09:29) that yeah me too um and i can’t believe who we’ve already had on on like we’re so honored to have these amazing individuals come share their space and time with us thank you thank you universe whoever thanks but at the top of my list currently is eckhart tolle so he’s the author of the power of now i stand in agreement with y’all like that book kind of popped my cherry as it were to the world of wisdom for me it was a new earth but still yeah a new earth awakening or whatever yeah both great books by eckhart totally by

(1:10:11) my boy eckhart um also dave chappelle is on my list which yeah well the he’s he’s the boy joe rogan shout out to joe rogan he been doing this thing for a minute now hi joe he’s just we already know him he’s the king of um podcasts as it were so we could learn a thing or two this one’s gonna surprise you probably kim kardashian and that is because if you really look at it she’s like first of all one of the highest paid people in the world currently has the most influence maybe of any person

(1:10:55) in the world currently which is something to you know not sniff at or whatever they’re saying is uh because there’s gotta be i know we see whoever she is on the tv show i don’t know the chick but uh of course she portrays a certain thing on reality tv we all know hopefully by now most people probably don’t but you and i jade being in the industry know that reality tv is not real people like this is not their real self or lives so it’d be interesting to pick the brain of someone who has basically grown up a large part of her

(1:11:35) life in the limelight um in the spotlight has now you know had children she’s she’s moving through these different parts of her life and has is currently holding so much influence over the world just to see where her head’s at would be interesting to me so that’s why i pick her and then howard stern cause come on man he’s the original the og gangster of just voice into your eardrum and we could certainly learn a thing or two from the king of talk radio i’m sure especially in our this new podcast

(1:12:15) venture of ours so shout out to my boy howard um dr luann brisendine yes girl i am obsessed with this lady’s book it’s the female brain all about what our crazy lady brains are doing all the time with the hormones they’re on and whatnot and i think it’s something everyone needs to get into so to have her on the podcast would be awesome because i could share that with y’all and then tim ferriss because that’s who got me into listening to podcasts so do you do any of these people um do any of their words bring you to

(1:12:58) tears like that they really move you what they have to say uh depends on how close to my period i am but i mean eckhart tolle’s words definitely uh resonate just in order to get you out of your mad brain moments where your your brain just cannot calm down because it’s so much about bringing you to this present moment so there’s a lot of wisdom in that dave chappelle certainly brings me to tears but in joyfulness he does he gives me tears on both ends yeah i mean that sounds weird he makes me cry he brings me tears in my eyeballs

(1:13:40) um uh both ways through laughter and through he moves my heart yeah so yeah howard stern is an amazing storyteller so uh well do you watch uh my last guest with david letterman oh yeah i have yeah he’s got an episode on there um and you know i was on his show once um but yeah out of that list though i would say eckhart tolle and dave chappelle for sure do that for me they tear me up you need to hit up howard tom come on over he doesn’t do interviews ever but we can dream can’t we and tim um tim ferriss

(1:14:19) he hasn’t brought me to tears i don’t think but you know some of his guests though he inspires a lot of empathy for me yeah and uh he’s the the likeness i find in him is that i definitely consider myself like a human guinea pig i’m always trying new [ __ ] i’ll do it you know let me just see how it works on myself especially and he is um a human guinea pig himself so i feel feel connected to them on that level and he wrote uh a part of his book the four-hour body is all about how to receive and give a 15-minute

(1:14:56) female orgasm who doesn’t like tim ferriss that’s all i’m saying thank you sir thank you um well we also have a pick your poison we do from jeff garrett on instagram would you rather lose all your money and valuables or all the photos you’ve ever taken oh boy so this is a little tricky because like like the cloud breaks or what does this mean i know the cloud is broken um so the thing is a couple things firstly all my photos i’ve ever taken can you imagine my life as a model thus far i mean i’ve

(1:15:45) been doing this for a hot minute and yours too jade for that matter we gots a lots of photos in lots of places and uh it’s partially part of my valuable goods i mean you’re talking about money and valuables well i do this for a living so technically my pictures are kind of part of that and then on the other hand you think about the sentimental value of the photos of course which is i think what this question is trying to speak more to of course but um i as much as the sentimental thing comes into play i feel like i could find those

(1:16:22) photos out in the interwebs so i said a trick i don’t know like someone else probably has all the good ones too somewhere out there like my friends and family and whatnot now because of technology and i have so many freaking photos i the biggest most overwhelming daunting task in my life right now is figuring out how i’m ever going to organize all those things so that i can utilize those photos properly so deleting all of them would be like oh well look the universe said i need to start from scratch so i don’t know i’m not sure on that one

(1:16:58) what about you um i you know i don’t have a lot of i don’t really have any money i don’t have much money and i don’t really have much valuables um but my photos of all my backpacking trips and of my kids growing up and of the day they were born and all that is definitely that’s what’s valuable to me so um i’m gonna choose um losing all my money and valuables because a day much but um you know i though after um i think i was like 24 i did i lost all my photos all of them and like my everything got hacked um

(1:17:41) someone hacked my facebook and they somehow hacked into my laptop through it never i’ll never use a dell again but uh yeah they got into my laptop and they cleared it out like my entire laptop was empty and um i had to just keep telling myself my house didn’t burn down it’s gonna be okay you know but i think now that it’s like my my kids childhood and stuff like that it would be yeah could be a little bit more heartbreaking so yeah i’m gonna go with that um yeah sorry i didn’t give a solid answer but i

(1:18:16) don’t really have one i don’t know yeah there’s like some some things i’d need to know first what are the rules here but um i don’t know the end of the day i don’t know at the end of the day i still don’t know okay so any hoosiers guess what fabulous letters and semi-fabulous gentlemen i don’t know i’m in a weird mood right now guys i sure are we tape these shows late at night all right people i haven’t had my chocolate i don’t know what’s going on um [Laughter] okay what’s a better word for boys and babes

(1:19:04) or dweebs and i don’t know what’s uh better adam edit this out obviously all right people for lack of a better word i’ll call you people um we are gonna get into our magic trick you already know what it is we’re gonna bring some wisdom into your life right now jade’s gonna kick us off what you got yeah so my magic trick is um meta meditation that’s m-e-t-t-a if you want to look it up um and i actually learned this from the warrior goddess training book um today’s guest so it’s a very heart opening

(1:19:52) practice and um so basically what you do and even if you’re not into meditation i think that um you would enjoy this it helps a lot with forgiveness and just feeling good so okay we’ll get into right now can we do it like with the listeners so that take it slow so we can do it with you that’s a great idea okay all right so you wanna um so basically from what i’ve been taught when you meditate your both feet should be on the ground for grounding okay that’s really difficult for me because i love sitting

(1:20:23) indian style but um there’s cross applesauce but yeah so whatever whatever gets you in that space so you want to get into your meditative space make sure you’re comfortable um and you’re going to first think of someone that you love um so for me it’s usually a family member so you’ll think of that person that you love visualize them in your head and then you’re going to send them loving kindness you’ll see you’ll picture that energy going out and and you know surrounding them and so you’ll stay here

(1:21:00) whatever you want to picture you can picture them happy you can picture them laughing but just surround them with loving kindness okay so then um you’re going to picture someone that’s neutral in your life just the first person that comes to mind um is usually good for me but someone that is just neutral and you’re going to do the same thing for them you’re going to send them loving kindness sorry for the interruption i feel like neutral is a hard one what’s a like what who do you don’t name someone but like what type of

(1:21:33) person is that for you because i’m trying to for me it’s just a co-worker that i don’t really have any attachment to no real relationship with okay yeah yeah just it can even be the person that checked me out at the grocery store today the cashier yeah okay just someone neutral that you don’t have any um attachment to um no one that stirs up feelings for you it’s neutral so picture that person in your mind and you’re gonna send them loving kindness picture them picture it all around them

(1:22:00) picture them happy whatever that looks like for you so this next one is where it gets kind of tough so um you’re gonna picture someone in your mind that you struggle with just again it’s best to just use the first person that comes to your mind because that’s who it’s usually meant for so this can be a political leader it can be our current president it can be a co-worker who is unkind to you um or sometimes a lot of the times for me even though i don’t know what they look like i just visualize in my head i

(1:22:33) i like tell myself that it’s the the bad characters and the sex trafficking industry because that’s that’s something i’m super passionate about is um that whole ordeal so you’ll picture someone that you struggle with that someone that stirs up negative emotions on you so like i said this part’s a little tough so you’re gonna picture this person and you may and you’re gonna start sending them the loving kindness and you may think that you know someone who’s vile or doing these

(1:23:05) atrocious acts you may think that like you shouldn’t be sending them this but the reason you still want to practice this with them in mind is because any energy that you send out goes through your own physical and emotional body so otherwise when you’re sending out those that judgment and hatred that might stir up in you when you think about them you’re literally bathing yourself in that and it gives yourself more deep-rooted self-hatred and judgment so what you send out you’re also sending to

(1:23:35) and through yourself so this helps you to not only have compassionate awareness but it helps you to dissolve separation and also remember this person that you’re thinking of is not happy otherwise they would not be so unkind and sending them these healing vibrations is sending them a change of heart as well and it changes the story for those that they are hurting so there are monks who believe that their whole life calling is to simply sit in this part of meta meditation to balance out the evils in the world

(1:24:04) so thank you for those people yes so you send that and circle them around it imagine it whatever that looks like for you and lastly picture yourself whatever you know just picture yourself and send yourself that loving kindness whatever brings you joy picture yourself in that way and most teachings you know say that you must love yourself first in order to love others so you think that this would have come beef you know as step number one instead of last and while this does make sense i also believe that in order to truly love

(1:24:40) yourself you must release all the negativity you have in your body towards others otherwise it seeps through your veins and keeps you from experiencing any self-compassion or kindness so yeah so picture yourself just as happy as can be and as full of love as can be so that uh yeah that’s the whole meditation and it typically takes me i spend about a minute on each person so it typically takes me under five minutes and i just set an alarm on my phone for 8 a.m and 8 p.

(1:25:08) m and um yeah i you can do it mentally from anywhere you know you don’t have to close your eyes you don’t have to have your feet on the ground you can be driving it’s just it’s such a good um practice to do and it changes the way that you view people and the way you treat them if you do it ritually so you will see a difference on the weeks that you’re consistent yeah it’s just uplifting to think about you know loving people generally and i think it’s very healing to think about loving those who

(1:25:36) have hurt you in the past or who you have some negative stuff around um and i also wanted very hard opening exactly i wanted to give a little uh i don’t know call it a shout out to our listeners who sit with us and you know do try these practices i know sometimes you know depending on where you’re at in your own journey this might seem a little woo-woo some of the stuff we’re doing might seem a little funny and and out there but the fact that you’re listening and being open to it and maybe you’re even trying it with us you know

(1:26:08) like sitting in that meta meditation that jade just guided us through that is [ __ ] awesome so thank you guys every time you do something like that you’re helping all of us raise the vibration so please continue and you know give us your feedback as well we want to know what you like and don’t like and i don’t remember mercedes how did you feel did that i mean i felt immediately uh like whether i’m picturing the person that i already have love for whether i’m in any of the circumstances whether it’s

(1:26:39) the neutral person or the negative person i feel much more uplifted and uh you definitely lander yeah you end it with a positive so whatever the case is like however deep you’re able to go it’s going to be a positive outcome you’re going to feel like you did better you lived in the christed way or whatever you want to call it depending on your religion you know yeah um so yeah it’s all good all good things i like it well give me your magic okay well i will right now matter of fact okay i will i will do that um my magic

(1:27:20) trick to die is something that helps take some of the stress off your digestive system so they need this yes we’re going quite the opposite direction i guess of what you had there but that’s all related actually this tip does come from um old buddhist proverb i believe it’s to chew your water and drink your food it sounds gross but okay sounds good gross but it’s super good for you and much better than what you’re probably already doing out there so chew your water meaning let your water rest in your mouth for a moment

(1:28:00) before swallowing it in order to allow your saliva to imprint on it okay change i don’t do that yeah you want to get the phs all aligned with what’s going on in your own body that’s going to make things a little less stressful and then most importantly drink your food meaning chew your food consciously and well enough so that it becomes uh like liquefied almost like an oatmeal or smoothie consistency it takes a lot of choose like 50.

(1:28:29) say like 25 to 30 but yeah 15 minimum you want to go up to 30 or so is probably depending if it’s like beef or something you got to be chewing on that thing i just don’t like drinking water so when i do i chug it i don’t so i need to work on that you know maybe it’s a type of water why don’t you switch your waters up till something resonates because there’s so many different types that have different minerals i drink alkaline water well that’s a problem right there we can get into that on a later podcast

(1:28:57) but that’s your problem right there first of all you’re going to get all bloated because your body needs to be your stomach needs to be acidic in order to digest food so you’re putting alkaline water in there and then you’re going to eat any food it’s going to make your your your food rot before it gets down into the place of your intestines don’t we want our body to be alkaline you’re no you don’t you want your body to be that what like 7.4 is it i’m not don’t quote me on the

(1:29:22) number but right right around the middle you don’t want to be crazy ph balanced water you know yeah alkaline water yeah you uh so on a ph scale you go all the way to alkaline you go all the way to acidic your stomach stomach is extremely acidic okay it’s like uh i want to say it’s like a 1.

(1:29:44) 4 or something on the the ph scale but our bodies like the rest the the overall uh blood flow i believe um our bodies want to be at a maintain something right in the middle i think it’s around seven seven point two something like this that’s what the water’s at right but the thing is if you’re drinking alkaline water so water that’s more alkaline than just usual water with your food any water you drink with your food is not good because you’re diluting your enzymes you’re diluting the stomach acid and that’s the stuff that you need in

(1:30:15) order to digest the food that you’re putting into your stomach so you want to drink your water separate from your food firstly you take a couple sips and you know be fine but you don’t want to chug a bunch of water and then eat a bunch of food okay that’s interesting yeah we’re getting off topic for my my magic trick here but it is important to know because i used to drink alkaline water i’ve gone through a long journey with my digestive system that’s why i find these type of tricks and tips so interesting

(1:30:41) and helpful the reason i was getting bloated and feeling nauseous sick all the time was because i was drinking that alkaline water i’m bloated yes so my food was rotting before it could get to where i’ve been doing this for four years all day every day i got a problem well stop it lady i mean if you really want to drink alkaline water you can drink it but just don’t drink it anywhere near food like two hours apart from your food so okay but still like honestly it’s i would rather lemons or alkalizing

(1:31:15) i could just add lemon to any water and still have the lemons are actually technically acidic which you would want to drink like you could drink like acv like apple cider vinegar with some lemon juice in it with your food and that’s going to help boost your i do that every morning so you want to do that with your food like right before your food so that you’re acidifying the stomach you can i know some people want to do it in the morning i don’t know there’s a lot of differences it’s energizing there’s a

(1:31:40) lot of different beliefs on this situation uh okay so i digress we can get into that on some other time but um maybe we’ll have someone on who’s an expert in oh yeah i’m sure that realm there actually i think whenever we have someone we’re having someone on with the microbiome situation they’ll probably know quite a bit about that system okay uh where was i oh yeah drink your food so you want to chew your food up make sure it’s super liquefied like mostly like an oatmeal or smoothie consistency

(1:32:20) and what i like to say what i like to tell my husband all the time who’s always standing up eating is eat more like a monk because monks are known to sit with their food and spend you know they spend ample time being very involved in what they’re eating and how much how many times they’re chewing even just one grain of rice at a time the reason you want to slow down and really take time to be with your food is to help your body out when it comes to digesting your food all of us mostly live our lives so busy that some

(1:32:59) of us don’t even sit down to eat like my husband and it’s really important to give your body the time and space to accept the nourishment you’re trying to give it you take at least 15 minutes to sit and consciously eat your food you could kick back and listen to this podcast and just chill out for a minute all right guys we’re here for you just take takarisi yeah so um thank you guys so much for tuning in we hope we were a light in your day and that you enjoyed that empowering conversation with heather ash

(1:33:32) we’re always here for you guys and we’d love to hear from you so any feedback would be awesome and please leave us a review on itunes after you subscribe this is so important because it lets itunes know that it’s valuable and then they feature it so that others will find out about it further spreading the sunshine yeah so talk to you guys next week until then be a light [Music] thank you to heatherash amara for being on our show today and to raytone royal for our intro jam we’re loving it and thank you to adam

(1:34:08) from red fox audio for producing the show could not do it without you bro you already know stay magical friends can should i do this uh [Music] part again about the uh magic trick because we went off on a tangent just in case no i like that okay but it wasn’t i don’t know how much of the information was like accurate i feel like we’re gonna get a lot of [ __ ] from it but whatever he’ll i think that we can clip out some after we listen to it but i still think it was an interesting conversation okay and

(1:34:39) then i was gonna ask you shouldn’t we we don’t have anything about subscribing this one like a yeah i don’t think we should do that every time um so maybe on the next one we talk about subscribing on this one we talked about reviews um but what matters the most right now is reviews reviews and ratings okay well do we need to get into it more i mean i said so please leave us a review this is so important because it lets itunes know that it’s valuable um but i don’t think that like i feel like mentioning it too much especially

(1:35:13) in a shorter episode it’s almost like annoying you know i feel like if we’re having a long episode we should say it twice but if it’s not a long episode i feel like once is enough maybe a good strategy is like when we do these blasts out to our like friends family and followers we’re in dms and stuff like that we should say do us a huge you know like if you ever do anything for us go right now onto your listening platform you know or call it out podcast app or whatever and review us like it’ll mean literally the

(1:35:47) world to us yeah i already wrote that out and sent it to you guys so we just um we need to do that for our first two because those are the what matter the most because that’s what gets you on new and noteworthy like the first eight weeks are of most important so we can even tell them like hey i’ll stop bugging you after like we get in the new and noteworthy sorry you gave me an email aren’t you um okay i am gonna say though i’m gonna say the staple question one more time just in case it was sounds too confusing

(1:36:18) um so real quick um okay so next question being one of my favorite writers i’m really excited for the answer to this one um if you could have the whole world read one book which would it be just in case he wants to change that do it one more time but this time just sound more casual like don’t look at your paper and just talk to me you already know she’s your favorite writer and you’re going to ask her about her book okay so next question and since you are you know the writer of one of my favorite books i’m really

(1:36:52) excited for this answer if you could have the whole world read one book which would it be okay um i really like that you i’m gonna hit stop on this and start wait real quick do i need to i didn’t say at rayton royal does that matter i said ray tone royal i think it’s okay this time okay um [Music] uh i really like that you asked me to lead it through because um it made it so much more off book the magic trick okay so oh yeah i like it too heather ash amara um and make sure you put your name remember it’s jade oh yeah oh yeah

(1:37:40) and also i don’t know if you listen to that one that i sent you about voices and he talked about being nasally that’s why i sent it to you because we had just talked about that he led them through a meditation yeah i loved that meditation i did it yeah it was really cool i was driving oh yeah i did it because i just finished running it was like perfect timing i was like it’s meant to be i wonder if she enjoyed the interview i don’t know i i was nervous but also mostly nervous for her like is she annoyed with us or

(1:38:09) like how she yeah she seemed happy um yeah she’s very sweet i mean there’s nothing yeah saying she like invited you to a thing that’s super cool but also we have to remember this was our first guest that we didn’t personally know you know like the other people we could read them yeah and i felt like we didn’t do well at the part where adam’s testing everything i know we didn’t break the idea build reports maybe we need to get some techniques on that better yeah we didn’t we didn’t like

(1:38:40) break the ice i think i was wanting to make sure it was being recorded when we did that and it might happen in case adam was needing us to be quiet but i didn’t know what he was doing yeah all right i think that that part was awkward and then it carried into the interview a little bit yeah i’m gonna stop our cam
